I remember Kandahar. . . there was 2 DSN phones for the entire base. . .put your name on the list at breakfast and maybe by midnight you could make your attempt for a 10 minute phone call which generally took 9 minutes to get connected lol.

I was there from '02-03. No coffee shops for us lol. It's great that there is more stuff there now though. No my350z for Alex back then lol.
