Agreed...it was good to have both driver's on the thread talking about the run.

There are examples on both forums showing that it will depend on driver skill. The Z is easier to drive fast so the Z has an advantage there. If your buddy can't launch at 6k; is not willing to go to 9k each shift; or granny shifts then he will lose to you. If he can drive it properly, it will depend on who gets the jump.

 

Yeah I raced an S200 the other day with a Veilside body kit and aftermarket exhaust but thats all i could tell he had done. He came up beside me when i was in the left lane in a 3 lane road and his middle lane had cars coming up and mine was free so he dropped down to accelerate and i dropped into 2nd right after him and totally blew him off the road. I watched him come slam on his breaks so as not to hit the car infront of him. He went into my lane and gunned it but i was already in 4th gear and way ahead of him. He pulled up next to me while making a turn and looked and me and smiled as he realized he has just been beat by a stock 350z in his supped up S2000. It felt great to know that Nissan is back on the road, and the fact that i hate Hondas.

 

I'm getting a 350 in a couple months, but at the moment I'm driving a Honda Prelude. I can't stand the ignorant people that make comments like "I hate Hondas". I love my Prelude, but just decided to get something new. The S2000 is a great car also. Don't be so close minded. By the way where is FL do you live, I'd like to race a stock 350z in my "Modified Prelude"...

 

I live in Clearwater, and im sorry that you dont agree with me on my opinions but its true. I will give you the fact that an S200 is " ok " but as far as other honda's i just cant stand them. im sure there are some out there that are fast and can beat a z, but that doesnt mean i have to like them, so sorry man.

 

hondas are good cars, haha i don't think u hate hondas, i think u just got ur new 350z and ur so much in love with it, .. u just want to hate the competition. haha. tats my opinion.

 

No im pretty sure i hate Honda's. Ive hated them since before i got the Z. I used to have a 2000 Metallic Silver Corvette and i used to pick on every "riced" out Honda i could find. That was alot of fun.

 

haha . icic, well just to let u know, i'm not bashin u , i was just jokin around. but ahh u had a 2000 vette. was it a zo6? wow u must be a pimp. haha. y didn't u keep it? the vette is a beautiful car. but ya i had a 1994 supra t. it was alot of fun, and i would kill all sort of hondas. i did really hate hondas. i was more of a toyota guy, .but now since my sister bought a 2000 jdm prelude type S. . i have i different view to hondas. coz tat car was a lot of fun to drive

guy i used to own a 99 honda prelude 5 speed very good car and i was gonna get a stook, but my prelude isnt 1/5 of the car that my new Z is and the Z just feels like more of a true sports car than the s2000 i will admit that coming from a high reving vtec, and insanely high reving sportbike background that it took some getting used to a 6.5 redline but now after getting used to it i WILL NEVER GO BACK NEVER I ABSOLUTLEY LOVE MY Z ITS AMAZING it has pottential to be a 400-450 hp monster, with the same effort will only get you 320 350 in a honda, i have no doubt in my mind that given a few years ppl will be tricken out this mean *** 3.5 near 600-700 hp

i'm waiting for parts from NISMO. to bring some products tat will give the 350z more power and heat. i mean, i want my z to be the ruler of the street.. i believe the s2k,wrx,mustangs are competition to the Z , and i want to turbocharge my z, so i can kill all that comp. my biggest goal is to beat a zo6... Z06 was introduced in 2001.

 

The Honda S2000 is an amazing car. Even though I own a Z, the Honda S2000 is our closest ompetition both speedwise and hjandling wise. The only downfall to the S2000 is its lack of low end torque and its poor aerodynamics. I think its Cd is around 0.4. I definately see any race between the Z and an S2000 a drivers race.

 

Holy crap, this would be no contest. The S'charger does just about nothing for the S2k. They had one (S/C s2k) in a somewhat recent issue of R&T, making about 300 hp at 8500 rpm or something. The only thing it did for performance was a 0.1 sec decrease in 1/4 mi ET and a slightly higher trap speed. Literally NO change in 0-60 time.

Now a turboed 350Z, good Lord. That'd be Very hard to touch. It'd whip my *** anyday, and I run even with E46 M3s. Just look at the Greddy 350Z.

 

Unfortunately, the only thing R&T did was slap a Vortech SC on the car....everything else was stock. The reason the ETs were nearly the same was cuz they could not get traction with the stock wheel/tire combo. The S2k needs to be launched at 6000 for good ETs, and even in stock trim an S2k will spin its tires at that rpm.

The best ET I've heard from a turbo'ed S2k with wheels/tires to match the power was in the 12s. Appropriately set up SC S2ks are in the low 13s. Low 13s are available on stock wheels/tires with a 75 shot with a WOT trigger...the WOT trigger lets you get the boost when you have traction.
