I saw someone ran a 13.8@103 at a track. My personal best was a 14.4@100.5 with a 2.48 60'. I was having problems with terrible wheel hop, the clowns at the track kept making me drive through the burnout box so my tires were full of water, plus we had to sit 1 1/2 hours between runs in 35 degree weather. I'm anxious to get it out next year and get some runs in 60 degree weather and hopefully pull some 2.0 60's - that would probably put me in the 13.8 range as well since they say every 1/10s in the 60' equals 2/10's up top.
It can bhe done.
I have Nitto's and they hook pretty good, temp plays a factor too.
I have my exhaust done and after I get my intake and ECU/Chip I will hook and get in the mid 13's.
As for the water box, here in Sac if you don't have DR's or slicks like Hoosiers you drive *around* it, not through it.

When they just sit there pointed you to the water.
Even when you go around them they try and insist that you back up into it. I just ignore them and go up to start staging and they get the hint DUH dumb idiots.
I have 235/40/18 in front and
275/40/18's in the rear.
I am not running the Nitto Street and strip like I was on my FireHawk. The ones that were good for 10k miles and DOT approved. Nitto 555R's I think they were. I am running Nitto 555 Extreme Performance on my 18's and they still hook like a bad dog, you just have to heat them up. Water won't help
Next time just ignore him and go stage. He will get over it.

Some people are just good at the strip (as crazy as it may sound) I for run SUCK. I'm happy if I can get within .5 sec of what the magazine claims it will do.

Last time I ran slicks with Nitrous I blew out my left axle
And the metal grinded into my new 373 gear too.
Not at the track, it failed on the way home from work after an all nighter at the track best 60' was 1.59 with 12.1 at 114 MPH.
I won a trophee.
This ultimtamently led to me selling my FireHawk which of course led to me buying my Z.
I will respect my rear end and axles this time. Less boost off the line, more respect for my vehicle too. It's a daily driver. Mid 13's will be fine for me this time around. This car is not a 1/4 mile car in my opinion. It's an all around have fun car.
