I personally ran at 14.8@98.9 mph... which was terrible i know. But the best 1/4 time that someone has recorded was a 13.85 i believe.

Terrible launch actually. VDC was on so it killed my engine speed... also i lost traction in 2nd gear, but after that it was smooth sailing... I just need to work on launching properly WITH VDC off... then i'd be in the low 14's at least.

keep on mind that the 13.85 was done with a g-tech...this is a real world figure of about 13.95. I am pretty sure this is all you can get.

Seeing that the Z is slightly faster than the S2000 (virtually equal), I'm sure the Z is capable of mid-high 13s without much problem.

I saw someone ran a 13.8@103 at a track. My personal best was a 14.4@100.5 with a 2.48 60'. I was having problems with terrible wheel hop, the clowns at the track kept making me drive through the burnout box so my tires were full of water, plus we had to sit 1 1/2 hours between runs in 35 degree weather. I'm anxious to get it out next year and get some runs in 60 degree weather and hopefully pull some 2.0 60's - that would probably put me in the 13.8 range as well since they say every 1/10s in the 60' equals 2/10's up top.

Thumbs up I will hit mid 13's

It can bhe done.

I have Nitto's and they hook pretty good, temp plays a factor too.

I have my exhaust done and after I get my intake and ECU/Chip I will hook and get in the mid 13's.

As for the water box, here in Sac if you don't have DR's or slicks like Hoosiers you drive *around* it, not through it.

What size Nittos are you running? I have the 18" Rays, and I don't think they sell Nittos in the correct size. I run on street tires a lot and I always skip the burnout box since it is pretty much worthless for regular radials, but the moron at the track wouldn't get out of my way to drive around it and kept pointing at me to go through it. I was pretty mad since I drove 2 1/2 hours to get there and waited 1 1/2 hours to run only to get a lousy launch.

Default I hate when that happens

When they just sit there pointed you to the water.
Even when you go around them they try and insist that you back up into it. I just ignore them and go up to start staging and they get the hint DUH dumb idiots.

I have 235/40/18 in front and
275/40/18's in the rear.

I am not running the Nitto Street and strip like I was on my FireHawk. The ones that were good for 10k miles and DOT approved. Nitto 555R's I think they were. I am running Nitto 555 Extreme Performance on my 18's and they still hook like a bad dog, you just have to heat them up. Water won't help

Next time just ignore him and go stage. He will get over it.

There is a S2000 disscussion going on. I believe the fastest completely stock claim is 13.70. There is always somone out there that car run a few 10ths faster then the crowd. Some people are just good at the strip (as crazy as it may sound) I for run SUCK. I'm happy if I can get within .5 sec of what the magazine claims it will do.

Don't forget the weight of the driver too.

Every little bit of weight reduction helps.
If a 250 lb man is racing a 150lb man their may be 1 or 2 tenths difference

I thought it was determined that the 13.66 was done by a car with some weight reduction.

Yes, the original thread said there was weight reduced, but it was specified as to what was actually reduced in weight.

Last time I ran slicks with Nitrous I blew out my left axle
And the metal grinded into my new 373 gear too.

Not at the track, it failed on the way home from work after an all nighter at the track best 60' was 1.59 with 12.1 at 114 MPH.
I won a trophee.

This ultimtamently led to me selling my FireHawk which of course led to me buying my Z.

I will respect my rear end and axles this time. Less boost off the line, more respect for my vehicle too. It's a daily driver. Mid 13's will be fine for me this time around. This car is not a 1/4 mile car in my opinion. It's an all around have fun car.

Live and learn!
