finally, i get a chance to test this damn thing out. driving down I-85S towards downtown ATL, i notice a nice blueish impreza. no wing, big exhaust, WRX badge. i have always wanted to try one of these guys but i was on the phone and wasnt really thinking to much about it. i get beside him, and all of a sudden he down-shifts and speeds off. i tell the girl on the phone to hold on, put the phone down and get ready to play. i get beside him, downshift to 4th and wait. he hits it, i hit it, and i immediately jump him about 1/2 to 1 car. im assumming boosts comes on and he pulls even. shift to fifth, pull again and then he gets even again. i shut it down at around 110 or so, as i had just gotten pulled the night before on the same stretch of road. we played a couple more times.....same result. he slows down, i pick up the phone, turn on the interior lights and give him the thumbs up. i would be interested to see how it would have turned out going all out. the two cars seemed to have matched up pretty evenly. also would have loved to find out his mods, b/c the sound of the BOV was intoxicating.....

How fast were you going when you downshifted to 4th? Couldn't you have gone to third? I am not sure about the gearing of the Z's though

 

leave for austin in the morning. trailering the coupe behind a U-Haul. 15 hrs, solo should be quite interesting. think ill bed down in dallas and watch the fiesta bowl. damn, im gonna miss atlanta
