Re: Heh, RSXrs feeling froggy
Best look at his mod list. Notice the Hodata ECU? On a stock RSX Type-S that is good for 15-20rwhp
http://www.hondata.com/k20a2release.html
With his other mods (CAI, header+exhaust) he is probably pushing 190hp to the wheels.
On a 2700lb car, I believe that he would not have lost by much.
Hondata makes some kickass software...I hope they make an ecu for the S2k some day.

For What it's Worth ?
I owned an RSX type S with just catback and intake and dyno'd 192hp to the wheels. I now have a track model Z and raced my buddy with his type S which has intake, catback, and flashed ecu .... results I kill him from a stop but he stays with me from a 50 punch all the way up to about 120 at which time I start to walk away.

Woa, thats either a huge gain with those basic mods or the S's loses very little to the wheel. With the Eclipse GT which is also rated at 200, to get to 190 something at the wheel, they need to do a lot more mods.

Most of the baseline dyno shows the RSX-S to have around 165-175 whp (mine was somewhere around there) so I don't know how the heck yours managed to have 192 whp with just an intake and catback, unless yours was a factory freak. Did you ever baseline yours?
Just the intake and catback alone really didn't do that much because of the ECU. People realistically only gained 5 hp from these mods (even though a bunch claimed that they gained 20+ whp)
Hondata really seems to bring RSX i/h/e mods alive. But even then, people are dynoing around 190-195 whp with hondata, i/h/e--that's why it's hard for me to believe that daddy Z's RSX had 192 whp with just intake and exhaust. If it really did have 192 whp, you made a big mistake getting rid of it! Add hondata and headers and the sucker would be pushing 200+.

The acuras have very little driveline loss. That is one thing I love about them is their drivetrain because it is just so silky smooth. Pretty nice cars for the money. That turbo'd clipse of yours... very nice man. Ive owned all generations except the new clipse and heard some good things about them once they are turbo'd

got both
The rsx with a hondata is really fast but the Z is slightly faster but not by much. How do I know, cuz i own both car. Just put a hondata on the RSX with some new tires in the front and with a cold air intake. The Z take it off the line but not by much 1st and 2nd gear it keep up but by that time I am on 3rd gear. The RSX is still in 2nd so it give time for the car to catch up every time my bro shift. The best time he ran was 14.3 with the rsx and a 14.2 with the Z so that is not much diffrent. My little bro can real drive that car, some time I think he is a better driver then me. He gave a better run then a s2k driver. So a few more mod on that RSX beware Z owner! Love my Z would never trade it for a Million fast RSX but if you hate losing don't race a RSX! You never know what it can do. Just enjoy your Z win or lose it's a great car!

That is one of the better looking RSX's Ive seen around. I love the interior on those cars for the price, and the power to weight ratio is pretty nice. I may pick one up to have another toy to play with in the summer, what kind of aftermarket is available for them at the present?

parts
Check out this website www.clubrsx.com. They got everything you need and plus you can find what mod to do and not do. When you do get it, 1st you would wanna do is change the tires. The stock tire really suck. You can get major improvement with just tire. I was able to run a 14.8 with just tires. That pretty fast and if you want a little more power. Get the hondata it's bang for the buck. You might be able to run mid to low 14's with those two mod. I love both of my car. Just love the Z a little more.

Thanks for the link mrrsx, I look forward to reading up a little bit more on this car. It gets ripped on a quite a bit on the streets for some reason, but I think thats all from people wishing they had one instead of their civic. I just looked at the picture of yours again, and again, nice car.

how is your driving?
I hope your a good driver. But don't be suprise if your bro beat you. After all it a front wheel drive then to have better traction and easier to drive. The RSX have low end torque so he will get very little wheels spin, unlike our car the torque is very low so you might get so much wheel spin that the RSX might leave you off the line, with hondata and diffrent tires it might just beat you. After with just these few mod my bro was able to do 14.3 pretty close to the Z performance, the diffrent between the Z and the RSX. He alway hit avarage time of 14.4 - 14.3. The Z on the other hand can run time from 14.9 - 14.1. But with better tire and a little weight reduction you might do better. I broke 14 and have hit high 13. If fact 13.88 but this is with the seat taken out, race gas and street slick tires. But like I alway say win or lose the Z is a great, great car. Take to a track day you will see why I would trade my Z for any other car. I hope this juice you up about your Z but don't be mad their always faster car out there. Straight line isn't every thing! Just enjoy. Late!

mrrsx350z--
That is by far the sharpest looking RSX I've ever seen in my life (even in mags)!
I really love that car. Damn. I may buy one for my beater car.
That is the first RSX I've ever thought looked better than my 3G Eclipse GT (my current beater/foul weather driver).
I like it a lot. Wow. Gimme a PM when you are ready to sell that thing.

are we really comparing a 350Z to an RSX? seriously?
when magazines compares this car to other cars, its usually the Boxter S, Mustang Mach1, AudiTT,S2000.. blah blah.. but not the RSX!
the RSX hits high 14's low 15's.. and the 350Z hits high 13's on the shitty bridgestones... stop this please

I didn't post this thread to start a war about whether it was possible for an RSX to beat a stock Z. I assume it is. Heck, with probably under a couple of grand, my GTP will beat it in the quarter, as those cars are easy to get into the 13s.
From what I understand, with the mods the guy has, you can get into the low 14s. It is conceivable from a roll, it might be tight.
Also interesting over there is this thread on the G35C

from a roll to what speed? i know my 4th and 5th pulls harder in my 350z than it did in my old rsx which had the hondata flash and numerous other mods.
come on guys if you are going to compare cars then do it evenly. stock for stock there is no contest and mod for mod there will be no contest either.
