It ran a Low 10 something.

You are aware that the VQ30DE motor in the 96 maxima makes 80% of it's peak torque at just 1800rpms? That 80% is still more than the S2000's PEAK torque. Dude, you are only digging yourself a hole. Let it go before you make an *** of yourself....please.

Nope, were going to show a video of either from the maxima, or from the S at low R's and see who wins. Since we've already done this I can tell you it's the S. Since you said the max pulls 80% of it's peak torque at 1800 rpm that translates to about 2547 rpm on the S2000. By then I'm making 85% of my peak torque. (dyno numbers from this page, http://www.comptechusa.com/images/dyno/2kS2000plot.pdf )
So by my math the Maxima will be doing 9.418 mph at 1800rpm
The S2000 will be doing 12.1 mph sooo we'll do a happy medium and race from ~ 10mph and video it.
Sooo since vtec comes on at 6000 rpm 6000/9200 = .652
So the .652 x 6500 rpm = 4238 rpm the maxima will shift at 4238 rpm and I will shift at 6000 rpm. Other then gearing (which mine is taller to my disadvantage). this will be a test of bottom end.
He's standing behind me right now and his words were "thats not fair we did this your going to kick my ***"

Listen to yourself, you're getting all defensive about your car being compared to a FAMILY SEDAN....that in itself is comical. How about I run my buddies yellow 2001 S2000 and take a video, and you can watch the "torquy" S2000 getting the SMACK DOWN from a vehicle which you stated is "unfulfilling to drive".

Your test is about as unscientific as it gets. Your S2K has better gearing than a 5 speed Maxima. Look at the rear axle ratio of both cars and come back and tell me the S2k is at a disadvantage.
Heres my scientific tests......The 5-60 mph tests of the S2K are **** poor. To get good times out of the car you MUST launch it and rev it to redline. When the car is out of VTEC it isnt very fast.....This is coming from professional drivers and members of S2ki.com Its about as simple as that.
I dont feel like posting much more on this subject because it doesnt seem like you can accept the FACTS. You lost all credibility when you posted that ridiculous graph and stated that the Z06 can use more power. The only person who can honestly state that would be someone driving a 10 or 11 second car.

Ha, yeah right the s2k has shorter gearing I wonder where you got that one. Both 1st and 2nd are taller. 44mph in 1st and 67 in 2nd. whats the maxima get again? 34 and 62

Same professional drivers that said the E36 M3 had great handling I assume. Been there drove one have incar video of how poorly it handles, Namely UNDERSTEER. No car with mcpherson stut front suspension will ever handle well in stock form in my mind. Don't believe everything you read.

Seeing as many people make turbo kits and superchargers for the Z06 apparently some people agree with me. namely rich enough ones to buy these toys.
I lost credibility, HA how about you stop ranting and raving and post something intellegent. You sound like one of the dumbest people I've ever come across on the internet. All you do is get on here and Bash. GROW UP. All you people are doing is defending your $30k decision the same as I was. You rave about what straight line speed it has. OH AHHH if I wanted straight line speed I go jump in my wagon. I doubt a 350z could keep up with it. And certainly not for the total cost of $5k invested including buying the car. Can we say mid 12's. Straight line speed is easy. Drop a huge engine in a small car, DONE. I know what fast cars are , I OWN 2 read my Sig. my 850 turbo ( 290 torque/285fwhp, sold tomorrow) pretty easily pulls away from Z28 camaro's (which are faster then a 350z) and then my wagon has nearly 450 ft/lbs of torque, yeah thats the same as a VIPER (obviously not the new one , but does anyone have one yet) I know torque as well. Ok yeah the S2000 doesn't have ground ponding torque but the beauty of Vtec is it allows Honda to extract what torque they can out of the little motor while still allowing extremly high HP. You should be ashamed to buy a car and then brag about it's torque and HP when your comparing to a 2.0 liter 4 cyclinder (I consider them the same as the quickest stock S2K has run a 13.66 and I think the fastest stock Z to date is a 13.8 something). Your engine is nearly 2x the size. I"m sure you know how Vtec works but since you've been pretty ignorant so far I shall explain. It allows honda to use a low lift cam lobe and proper cam timing to extract what torque they can out of the 2.0 liter. Then at High R's the cam timing retards (the Z does this, as well as almost every other car on the market now) but then it transfers lobes to simulate a highlift cam lobe. Guess what you do when you want to make your car faster? You put a BIG CAM in it. A big cam will cause a lumpy idle and .... LOSE YOUR PRECIOUS BOTTOM END TORQUE, (but it makes the car faster) unless you have Vtec which gives you the best of both worlds a whimpy cam for low end and a hot cam for top end. SO saying the car is out of Vtec under 6000 rpm is false. the car is actually always in Vtec, as Vtec is the whole system. So since your comparing my 2.0 liters torque to your 3.5 (cause torque is directly related to displacement, or boost) lets compare a 350z motor to something 1.75 times it's size. thats a 6.1 liter engine. Lets be nice and compare your torque to that of the 5.7 liter LS6 which is pushrod for gods sake. I'll let you guys try to tell me how it compares. Have fun. ie. go check out the graph.
