its already posted in my pictures
but yeah the Z didnt fair well, the GTP was the clear winner, tho Im not sure it should have been by that much. and no way the maxima should have beat the Z(people compare numbers of a maxima hitting 14.1, well mags got it 6.0 and 14.7. well ya know what, if the maxima can magicly gain .6sec over mag times, then why cant the Z?)
anyway, the Z driver was obviously VERY crappy.

Looks like the GTP would probably win, eventually, no matter what. But if the GTP and Z driver switched cars, it would be a close race, Z might even pull it out, don't know. The GTP driver had an obvious skill advantage over the other two drivers.

I know the filmer of this race. His name is Guy and he also drives a supercharged Prelude. He said the 350z driver wasn't good at all. He hit fuel cutoff a couple of times and also missed a shift into 4th in the last race. Driver makes all the difference in the world. Also Guy said the 350z has very low miles so it isn't even close to being broken in yet. The GTPs best time is a 13.9@98. Not out of the reach of a stock 350z by any means. That group of cars races all the time, so they are all really good at street racing, that is also a big factor.

Not to say the GTP driver isn't good, but it really isn't that hard to launch one once you figure out what the point is for that temp/surface where you don't go up in tire smoke.
Just brake and mash the gas until you reach that point, let loose the brake, ease into the throttle at the edge of losing traction, then mash it to the floor
I had thought that one time the Z missed a shift. You can see it slow slightly like he is shifting (about even with the Max), then all of a sudden, the Max pulls him quite a bit.

The Max with just intake ran a 14.1@98 so it isn't slow by any means. All GTPs are auto, so it cuts down on driver error quite a bit. I raced a GTP with upgraded pulley, ECU and Intake a while back in my Supercharged Prelude. I pulled it quite easily, and I think that my Prelude is pretty close to what a stock 350z should be. I'm making a little over 230whp and 190wtq in a car that weighs 2900 lbs. Given a better driver and a broken in 350z, it should have been ahead of all those cars. GUY (Filmer of race) also drives a supercharged Prelude with about the same hp as mine, and he walks both the GTP and Maxima by about 4 or 5 cars every time he races.

so assuming that both drivers in the gtp and 350z are of equal skill, their 1/4 mile times should be around the same? Both cars can hit the 13.9 mark with good drivers right?

Gtp's are great from a stop, and obviously die out on a roll esp the dreaded 40 MPH roll (an esp weak spot for GTPs). But some rockers can take care of that problem. Along with a DHP PCM, and a cam your good to go!
I have a modded '99 GTP.

I will end this at the track this weekend. see some real quarter miles times to hopefully back up the few times we have thus far. either that, or I will learn I am a sucky driver. but I would like to say Ive never missed a shift in "spirited driving" so I think Im gonna do ok if I can figure out the launch.

I own both a 350Z and manual 02 Maxima(wifes) and let me tell you the Z cannot eat the Max for lunch sorry. My brother excellent manual driver as well as I have lined them up and swapped cars and up to 60 the Max was nearly at the Z's rear bumper and 4 different occasions. I think that GTP had more mods than that just look at the way it pulled definatley looks faster than whats claimed.

Here is a page showing GTP times and mods.
I'd say the 13.9 sounds about right. That would be a tenth or so faster than MOST people are seeing so far on the Z.
They have all that low end torque, especially with more boost from the pulley. I don't think what has been said here is unreasonable.

Be careful of what you ask for, there are quite a few 12 sec GTP's no NOS.
There is also 11 sec GTP without nos on the stock supercharger, that is a daily driver and still has it's interior.

A modded NA 4th gen (1996-1999) maxima raced a 350z (another friend) from a 60-130, 70-120, and 80-120 mph roll on the highway and he said that the Z blew past him like he was standing still after 100+mph speeds.

Obviously the 350z shoud be superior from a roll.. but from a stop (350z vs. 6spd max) the Z is FASTER, BUT it's hard to say that the Z will kill, destory, or eat the max. There are alot of things to consider for street races... on the track it's a whole different story.
