Default 03 Z times

First I want to introduce myself as a mature minded individual whom owns a 350. I am competitive in nature and wish not to offend anyone at all. I also know what the limitations and capabilities of what (OUR) car are...STOCK. I took my car to the track last month and ran a 14.06 @101.49. Just interested to as whether my fellow Z owners have pushed our car past these times; and if so, I want your feedback. I do not plan on doing many modifications (if any) and want to know if I am driving the car to its fullest capacity?.!..! I want to get in the 13 realm and want you guys to give me some feedback. My slips are on the site if any dyno men are out there and can improve my times by looking at the stats. Heo2boy. Silverstone Performance 6MT

What was your 60ft time? Perhaps a set of Nitto's would put you in the 13's.

Default 60' time

2.126. Tires would help but not ready to throw down that kinda cash yet. Thanks though. Just looking for total STOCK time comparisons.

How did you launch your car? What RPM? Did you slip the clutch?

13s are definitly possible a 13.8 and a 13.7 has been acheived, but of course you have to have good conditions.

I got a 14.19 at way less than ideal conditions.

but whe you say stock... do you mean full weight(spare tire and all that included) and how much gas? I mean losing like 10gallons of gas would have put you into the 13s on that exact same run.

You are definetelly very close to a 13...Little more practice on the 60' and you are there...As for the 13.7 stock, yes its possible but i thought that the person that did this measured it with G-Tech, and thats no good...

Default What model?

I ran a 13.90@101.16 with my base Z. I am in NJ and it was about 45 degrees out, but my 60' was a 2.213 so comparing it to yours, I'm assuming your car is heavier or your shifts weren't that great. Also, this was with only 1700 miles on the car. Now I have about 10 HP more from my mods and 11,000 miles so I expect easily a 13.8 or better....

Default To ARES

My car was fully loaded stock with only an 1/8 tank of gas. Really about a 1/16. Spare tire and me.(I weigh) 200Lbs. O.k. 205. My trap speed was good but I feel that it could have been better if I wasn't spinning so much in the hole. There was a lot of spent rubber on the track from all the BIG BOYS. Oh, and thanks to all, for the good comments and feedback. Today I just bought the new ROAD and TRACK stats volume and it states the TRACK 350Z does a 14.1 @ 100.2. I have a Performance model which weighs more and am running a 14.06. I feel good about that. I'm driving better than those proffesional drivers that get paid to do it. Also, I'm sure those silly people are driving on full tanks and take an average of all their runs too. Oh well, KEEP IT ON THE TRACK!!

13.90 Flat? OR 13.99? I thank you for your feedback but to say my shifts "weren't that great" somewhat gets my hair up. post your slips or was your time on a G-TECH?

I was just saying about your shifts or weight of the car because your 60' was better than mine but you ET wasn't. That's it. Wasn't trying to imply or start anything. I have my slip in front of me but no camera. I will type exatly what it says from top to bottom. And BTW, I stated 13.90, which means 13.90, not 13.99, and this was with no LSD....

OK, was the POP Charger on the car when you ran these times? If yes, I was asking for STOCK times. NO MODS!! This could have been avoided.

I have to correct myself. Road And Track states 14.3 not 14.1 @100.2.

Yes the pop charger was on the car but no heat shield... Most people claim that the car lost HP with the pop charger. Oh well, Good Luck and best wishes... Enjoy your Z...

Jason,

What RPM did you launch at? Slipping the clutch too? Power shifted?

For that run I pretty much just rolled off the line, maybe around 2200 rpm's. I found that with the limited traction that was my best result. And I shifted with the clutch. If I let out more air from the tires and had a couple of more runs, I could of launched harder... Well, we'll see when it gets warmer here in Jersey...
