Its start around 35 mph in 2nd to 4th @115, we only have 1 lane to race, if it was 2 lanes maybe I were pass him.

If it was the late model 911. You dont have a chance with the Z. Most Porshe drivers are not aggressive anyway. I think the drivers are older like in there late 40s and up.

Unless you have a supercharger on your Z, you wont stand a chance against a newer Porsche 911 in a highway roll.

Well I'm not really sure what you mean, but what I'm saying is that a 350Z would need a supercharger or some other drastic power upgrade in order to keep up with a new 911 on the freeway. Simple intake and exhaust mods wont do the trick.

First off, you will not get "Crushed" by a 996 911 depending on the year and model. A 00-01 996 C4/Vert. is actually not that fast as it weighs a lot and has around 300(?) HP. (not much more then 287 for the Z). I was playing with a C2 996 on the freeway and while we didn't line up and punch it, when we played follow the leader I kept up with him the whole time, and he obviously with me. 02(?)-03 996 have an additional 20 HP I believe so those would be harder to match. Anyway why don't you pick up the new R&T they race a 350Z along a 996 Targa and it made a quicker lap time.

Injen and resonator? Who cares! Those are real big mods

With 300+hp and 3000lbs. 1/4 in mid 13s you are done in your 350Z. I had a real hard time keeping up with one the other night oh but I only drive a LS1

By the way no flames and no troll here but don't feel to confident you can keep up with 996s.

You're right, I dont have a Z33, yet. I have an E46 M3. I have run against both the 996 and a Z (beat both), and I'll say that the 996 was much faster than the Z. I really like the Z and plan to add one as a second car...it's not the fastest thing in the world, but it's a cool car. The M3 isnt the fastest thing around either...but you dont see me claiming to have beaten Z06's.

A Z will probably run a pretty close race with a pre-2002 996 Cab tip, which runs the 1/4 in about 14.1, but otherwise the 996 should be significantly faster.

I have a 911 and a Z.
Even though the 911 is 20 yrs old, I think it can hang very well with the Z. My 911 feels like it has lots more torque, even though it doesn't.

What is the attraction to posting these "I raced a______, I spanked a _______," "I____________" threads?

As if a redlight encounter with another driver, who is obviously as bored with his insurance policy as you, is some sort of tried and true yard stick by which one can truely measure performance and get complete and comparable data.

Bring your Kool Kone air filter Powered Z car to my next autocross and I show you a guy who will make you look real silly when he comes in with lap times about 6 seconds faster than you in his stock '87 Mazda 323.

And personally, I take it as a compliment that so many car manufacturers seem to really try to compare their cars to Porsches.

Sorry for the waste of bandwidth...

up til 02, they had 296HP, I am a HUGE Porsche (911, NOT Boxster) fan, and think the Z would compare favorably (even though it would still lose in a close race, from a roll), the 320 HP 02 and 03s are a bit faster (unless it is a cab, targa or a tip-ALL of which seem to be more and more popular these days)
