RedlineZ your funny, Its obvious you havent got a clue about F-bodys. The Ramair on the SS and WS6s is completly useless, the extra 20 hp comes from the exhaust, usually the extra weight incurred by the extra options and beefier suspension cancels out thier extra power. Yes the cars run that fast but you know believe what you want its too bad you live in Mississippi Id love to wipe the floor with your T/A killer tell you what Id even bog it off the line and let you get a head start. Drivers race LOL Oh your funny guy. Crazybosnian you feel like linking this discussion to LS1.com

agreed. This is humerous. Many of you are so blinded by the shiny colors of your brand new cars to realize that the rest of the world does not drive 350's. This is a 350 board but don't bash other cars.

The reason I'm here is to introduce this concept of the 350 not being a supercar. I used to think I'd own one someday but I don't think I could be a big enough dick to own one.

It's nice that a small fraction of the owners on this site are not close minded though. It gives me hope for the rest of you.

Couple points.

1. The LS1 does not make as much power outside the corvette as it does in the corvette. In the same way that our Z's make more power than the G35 coupe with the same motor. The vette is 350 hp, all others are 320-ish.

2. No LS1 car can hit a 12.8 stock. No way, not gonna happen, end of book. The LS1 corvette does about 13.6. And that is the fastest LS1 car there is. (actually the '02 camaro ss is about the same) The LS*6* corvette (aka Z06) does about a 12.5.

3. LS1 cars are faster (straight line) than the Z, but not by a whole hell of a lot, and older ones (non corvette) are about the same 1/4 mile. The Z however will eat anything short of a Z06 for breakfast on the track.

4. I respect LS1 cars, and have no beef, just wanted to put up some statistics.

Copule of points for you,
1. Get your **** straight, yes LS1 makes the same exact power in the corvette and in the F-body (and also corvette will usually dyno less on the dyno because it looses more power to the IRS). The fastest LS1 stock has hit a 12.7, few 12.8s and many 12.9s. Chack your stats in GM high tech , also on LS1tech.com.
Oh and 350 on the vette and 320 on the F-body, yes but the fbody is very underrated, most of them dyno 320 to the wheels...

The Z will not eat anything short of a Z06 ( or a C5) on the track. Oh yeah the fastest a stock Z06 has went was 11.6!

Get ur statistics straight bud!

Oh yeah and put the damn magazine down!

Plenty of people have hit 12's in stock F-bodies, and I mean stock tires, stock paper filter, stock everything. Even a ford magazine(Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords) got a 12.8 out of a Z28 and later a 12.9 out of an SS on a 85 degree day. The LS1 in the f-body makes right around the same power as the corvette version, they both dyno 290-320 RWHP stock depending on transmission. I've seen a bone stock automatic 2000 T/A lay down 312 RWHP/326 RWTQ. Thats a tiny bit more than 320 at the flywheel. As for LS6 cars, I've heard of 11.90's out of stock Z06's but never seen it done. I have however seen a bone stock automatic 2000 SS run two 12.9 passes and a bunch of 13.0X's on the same day. I have two of his passes on video, a 13.00 @ 106 mph and a 13.03 @ 106 mph.

I won't even get into the handling argument because I don't road race, just like most of the people that think a 350Z will outhandle everything.

Soemthing doesnt have to be the latest and greatest technilogical breakthrough to be taken seriously. The 350 cubic inch motor has been around forever and has been making people like you look bad every bit of the way. Im not saying that the 5.7 is the best engine ever but why would anyone, even GM, keep something like that around for so long if it wasnt getting the job done. I like the 350Z, dont get me wrong. Its a cool *** car. Is it as fast as LS1 in a straight line? No way, not even close. The LT1, its neck and neck. Im not saying you didnt do what you claimed to do, I am saying the driver of the T/A was not as good of a driver as he should be.

BTW, My car is 10 years old and it will beat the **** out of most 350Z's out there and my car has those god awful push rod thingies. The problem is finding one that isnt scared of losing.

Man I have been reading this crap, and this Redline guy is a *****, he acts like his Nissan(Owned by Ford) is some Porshe or somthing, you need to grow up, you say you are in Med school, yet you act like a 5 year old, a Trans-Am will walk you hard, a Bulllitt will run neck and neck, a SS will imbarass you, they bought the car so it would go fast in a line, that is why they wanted it, get over it, it does it damn job, it makes ****** like you who payed to much for their car look like ***s every day on the street, sucks for you. I have seen a stock 2001 Z-28 with nothing else but drag radials go 12.7@108 at HRP so yes they will do that, ans there are less Bullitt Stangs than there are you single color of 350Z, they will be worth a good amount of money one day, like old muscle cars, but I guess they are junk huh, that is why they are worth 20X what they sold for when new, in 30 years your car will be just another Nissan, and the LS1 will be know as the greatest motor of the 90's, you are a joke!

Yea, muscle cars are junk, they use pushrod V-8's

I would be willing to say the LS1 is already known as at least one of the greatest motors. I know I respect it like no other.

Um, Nissan is not owned by Ford. It's partly owned by Peugot or Renault or one of those French car companies with all the extra letters. I think you are thinking of Mazda.

You are pretty much correct on the rest of the stuff though. Hehe.

Have fun loseing in style for many years to come. (against LS1s)

redline, not all stock Fbodies run the same times and that statement goes for the 350z to. LS1s can range from 12.8(the freaks) to 13.8s(the slugs, which is usually due to driver error) and whatever in between is average. There is not a performance difference between the regular fbodies and the ramair fbodies, they run and dyno in the same ball park and ive seen regular Zs and t/as run faster then WS6s and SSs. Same with the corvette. Bone stock except for a catback and lid i ran 13.2s at 106 and on nittos ran 12.8s a few months ago bone stock cept' for those two mods. Now, with almost 50K miles my car hasent a fallen apart, and thats with it pushing more power though the drivetrain then an entire boat load of 350Zs being shipped over here from japan.

I respect your taste in cars, but i bought my car with the idea of straight line performance for street racing, stop light to stop light and 1/4th track runs. fbodies compete in those very well. I didnt get an s2000 or other roadster like the 350z becaus i wouldnt be as successful as easily as i can be behind an LS1... Usually when we go out racing, we look for long, clear, straight stretch of freeways and i dont think many 350Zs will be touching me on those and the slights curves on the freeway arent curvy enough i guess for the 350z to just make up the 30bus lengths i already have on him to pass me, lol. Noone wants to go position orange cones and make a little autoXer course in a parking lot to run on on saturday nights or go out and find a twisty counrty road to run on...
