From a stop a GT and a 350Z should be a tight race, after 100 I would say the Z has the advantage, the GT has a good amount of torque and can be a hard car to get by from a stop, they come off the line hard, and gears make them nasty, with traction of course, just watch out for modded ones they will be a handfull.

But heres is something that all on this board should find Humorous.

About a year ago I was at one one the locat speedshops in tampa..and a guy came in looking pretty upset...and he was asking about a 50 shot NOS kit for a 1990 something(can't remember what year) Honda Accord..when asked why he was so upset looking , He responded with: "I JUST GOT BEAT BY A F*CKIN DAEWOO". We all erupted in laughfter..that lasted about 10 min. Which didn't make him feel any better...

Thats like a buddy of mine and I were going to an F-body gathering in Atlanta....
Along the ride (he was driving) we're going up I-85, and casually pass a Civic hatch back....no biggie....
Well the Civic starts to slowly starts to pull up along side us....he gasses it a little and I look over at my friend and we both kind of snicker to ourselves.... Now, just for the record, this Civic looked completely stock other then a nice set of rims and the fart can out back....

So....my buddy in his LS1 Formula nails the gas and we take off...probably got a car to a car and a half lead, then all of a sudden, this Civic comes screaming by...sounding like a F-14...

I'm sitting there with my mouth dropped open...I start laughing and look over at my friend who is obviously P-I-S-S-E-D and looks at me like "say a word, and your walking"

I casually turn my head back strait down the road and didn't say a word to him for like 30 min.
Heard him mumbling something....but nothing I could understand.

Some Z's are faster than some Mustangs; some Mustangs are faster than some Z's...

Some of us have owned both - I've even owned two Camaros in my lifetime: a '68 (yay) and an '84 (nay).

Personally, I think it's good to have other folks (non-Z owners) on this board. It shows, I believe, that they consider us peers (most anyway) and this board to be a wealth of knowledge and information (I think it is anyway). It is obvious that many of these folks have quite a bit of knowledge to share with us as well.

I say - nice to have you and thanks for coming

Besides, all this bravado means nothing really IMO. I personally respect any folks that share the same hobby and love for cars that I have - cars of all shapes and sizes and letters of the alphabet

I'm here to learn not to burn...

Ahhhh, that sucks! But it happens sometimes. Last year a friend of mine in an LT1 Formula and me in the SS were messing around doing some runs. I'd had enough though and it was around 3am. I just wanted to go to bed. So we're stopped at a light and the Formula is on my left, I'm in the middle and some little Honda something (Integra ... I know, Acura ... Honda, same thing ) is on my right. My friend in the Formula is all pumped for the light to go green and I tell him I'm done for the night. I say to him "Why don't you race this kid in the Honda?". The Honda guy is looking straight ahead and he does have the rpms up so he is getting set to go (window up too so I couldn't say anything to him).

Light goes green, both the Formula and the Honda whatever take off and I'm just sitting at the light slowly rolling out watching and expecting the Formula to destroy this kid. They were dead even until about 4th gear where it looked like they both shut down at the same time (Honda may have been ahead by a bit). I pull up to the next stop beside my buddy in the Formula (I don't know what happened the Honda, he must have kept going or turned). Windows are down and as I pull up I can hear my friend yelling something along the lines of "HOLY SH*T! What the hell just happened here?!!!". It was pretty funny.

It was pretty cool though because this car looked like a beaten down rusted heap. Nothing on it to show it wasn't stock. Not my type of car for sure, but you've got to respect the performance. I am not looking forward to my first loss to a Honda

yea the ones that arent stock are usualy fast because the fixed up ones get weighed down quite a bit with a body kit sounds and a huge aluminum wings not to mention the altezza lights.. since weight is the only reason these cars are fast come on u dont need torque when ur car weighs 1900lbs!

Thanks and your welcome ! Oh and about your Z... I definately consider it a peer...and even after beating one once..I am still a little weary of them..as I know they will start showing up modded by the end of summer (should be some nice aftermarket perfomance parts by then)..that could turn the tables in the Z's favor

I read this months road and track and was quite surprised that it stood up as well as as it did with the Z06, M3, and the 911 on the track.

The 0 - 60 time seemed kinda high at 5.8 seconds, and so did the 1/4 mile which was 14.4 seconds for the Z, but other then that the car performed and in some cases out performed cars that retail for quite a bit more money...

the times for ALL the cars was a bit high, it could have been altitude, or weather, etc..BUT we always see M3s doing better than 4.9, 911 better than 5.0 and Z06s do better than 4.5, I think it was pretty universal in how bad the times were 5.4-5.5 is more realistic at sealevel
