lol thanks... stole it off fugly.com

Below is another one you might enjoy.

Hey 2k3silver, what do you think a used Civic project car with a decent turbo would run to put together ? Something that could run 12s in the 1/4 ?

Actually just ask me(check my pic) That setup I described would be pretty cheap. find an 88-91 CRX Si, 88s were the lightest around 1950lbs, I see these all the time around here nowadays for around $1500. Then most people do a B series DOHC VTEC(like the engine in an Acura Integra or 99+ civic Si) engine swap, these engines have alot of potential, but honestly one of these swaps can cost you around 2K (requires different trans, ECU, mounts, axles, linkage, ect) and you can get alot of power out of a SOHC VTEC swap(originally in 92+ civic EX) and it bolts up to Si trans, axles, mounts, but I would use an 88-89 Integra ECU and vtec switch) that can be had for around $2-300 on thepartstrader.com so if you blow one they ar ealot easier to source than the DOHC VTEC. Then get the greddy SOHC VTEC turbo kit(as low as 1500 new) find an intercooler out of a Mitsubishi Starion from pick n pull, around 30-40 bucks, and some mandrel U bends out of JC Whitney for plumbing. A set up like this should be good for 10psi all day, but I would invest in an MSD 6BTM($300) if you plan to go higher. This is all an over simplifaction but you could get into one hell of a fast civic for around $4K from scratch if you play your cards right.

Then again, 1990/91 240SX's are going for around 1500 over here too, and I've seen SR20DET front clips going for around 2K....

5k if you do it all yourself.

a friend of mine in nova bought his 88 shell from a lady for 300$ and went from there. you need an obd 1 DOHC b16a. as in b16a1 to be able to drop it into the chasis of the HF crx (that's what i have) and a pr3 ecu. you will need hasport mounts (best IMHO) also. any b series tranny bolts up but i'm running a gsr tranny.

i also have CTR cams inside of the motor for just a little longer duration. je pistons 8.5:1 and eagle rods are going in along with a block guard to make sure nothing goes bad with the motor. the head has been ported and polished blah blah. i dunno i've put less than 10k into my crx and it's faster than anything i've ran into on the street so far.

a b16a swap on striped interior and 5-8 psi should put you into 12's.

you gotta watch some Civic's,... put a damn Prelude motor in it and it will run low to mid 13's maybe a 12(driver)---might brake an axel but will beat the **** out of most w/ a few more fuel/cam,.etc mods + the H22 and it will be low 12's no doubt!!!Turbo it(alot of work to keep runnin good) would Killl all!! aka. Stephen Papadakis----Accords are the same way--replace the ol' F22 w/ a H22 and its gonna run low14's high 13's w/ a few little bolt-on's!!!

Still a Honda fan--also,...keep an eye on Sport Compact car too---they are gonna spend $17,000 on a Ford Focus(price difference between a Focus and a 03' Cobra)to see if it can beat a cobra--that ***** gonna be great!!!!

sorry to say but I'm not a big Domestic fan @ all--I see to many of them to say I would own one,..they all look the same!and by that I mean TA's Camero's,Stang's etc---everyone has them,..that said,..eveyone has a damn Civic too and they look the same.I'm only a Hatchback fan!

If insurance wasn't such a ripoff in Jersey I might be able to mess around with a Civic for fun

well seriously, if i was going to do it again, I would get a cheap 90-91 240SX and so an SR20DET swap like I said above, this would actually be a about as cheap and there are guys running around with 400hp on stock internals CRX is still fun, I just hate being asscociated with the big wing and sticker crowd every time I drive it around

haha, nice

That things probably a rocket ship, but I dont know if he will get 12k for it, kinda defeats the purpose, for that kinda money you can get a good used 300ZX turbo and afford JWT stage 3(400hp)

nope, Z32 like this Im seeing these for around 10K all the time around here in good shape. The JWT stage 3 is just thier pop charger intake, cat back, and ECU(ECU upgrade alone raises boost 5 psi safely and is good for 70hp) this is the no brainer upgrade all the guys do over at twinturbo.net and has consistantly netted around 400hp(calculated).

I didn't know that you can get a Z32TT for so cheap now, they haven't held their value as well as the TT Supras. So the JWT stage 3 doesn't include a turbo upgrade, thats why I thought it would be a lot more $$...That makes a great bang for the buck. Stage 3 in the SE-R world means T3/TO4E , 300-400whp on stock internals, and mid to low 12's...hmm maybe I should keep it a little bit longer..

That guy should lower the price on the 240, You could do it yourself for a whole lot cheaper then what he's asking.

Well supras are still high around here, this is where i get me cars Recyler.com there were TTs on there this week starting at 6K. If I get another Im going to find one with a blown motor for even cheaper and pick up an imported low mile JDM one to swap in, I've seen them for around 1K at some importers with the turbos on them and everything. Thier the best performance deal going today
