SCCA T2 Road Racing 350Z
TC Kline Racing's SCCA T2 class 350Z @ Willow Springs. TC outqualified an E46 M3 and Viper GTS Coupe. I believe he set a new T2 class lap record as well. I've got more photos if anyone is interested.

Thanks Scott! I have been following this car on several SCCA forums and trying to get photos of it. I hope to see it run at Road Atlanta the end of March. Do you work with TC? I understand the car is still mostly stock and that TC feels the car has a chance at the Runoffs this year. Please post any other shots you have.

Interesting to note that TC's car has Brembos, although it's clearly not a track model. Looks like he has also gone with 17" alloy (forged?) wheels for lighter unsprung weight and a wider selection of 'R' compound tires.
It's impressive that he outqualified the two T1 cars, but I wouldn't get the F-body contingent too excited yet. It will be interesting to see how the second car (minus TC as the driver) fares in National racing!

jmark - I don't work with TC, but I've known him for years. I met him at RC Engineering about 12-13 years ago when I was with HKS, and I did some instructing for Track Time when he was involved. I obviously don't know him well enough, though, as he didn't ask me to drive it this weekend at Firebird!
dkmura - Hmm, I thought it was a track model, but I'm sure you guys no better than I. It did have 18" wheels front and rear, though. I believe they were forged.

What I was hoping for is some pics of the roll cage. TC's cars typically have very clean installations (as T2 rules do not allow complete gutting of the interiors). As for Firebird, if there are any good F-bodies in the field, that should be a good race. After racing there several years ago, the twisty section should favor the Z, but there is a long straight that will show off the V-8's massive torque and HP.

thanks for the pictures of the cage. It is hard to tell the amount of cutting/modifying to the door panel/dash was necessary. Is there a bar connecting the two sides under the dash.
I would appreciate more details if you have them.

jmark - No, I'll be staying in the SoCal area this weekend, unless plans change. I may head out to CA Speedway to see what the NASA folks are up to.
Hedonist/jackwhale - That's about it for cage photos except the one I've attached to this message. I didn't get a good look at what connects the cage at the front. I suppose I can ask TC. What I did see looked very clean - typical TC Kline work. I'd love to have a T2 Z of my own! It's been too long since my last trip to the Runoffs.
