Played with another Camero
Same location coming from the bar. Slow down, look to my left, and see a Camaro, turn off VDC and wait for him to pull up to the stop. It has the SS stickers, and what a coincidence, it's white. I peel out...too much, he's got the jump in 1st. The red shift light is flashing and I finally shift. In second, my hood is at his door. In third, my hood is at his tail. In fourth I see him shut down and I pass at about 110 mph but it's clear he's got me when he shuts down. I stick out my arm, thumbs up and keep going. Damn, that car can pull.
I think our cars can compete with the SS, it depends upon the driver, and his sobriety lol.
Chalk this one up for the Camaro.

Another LS1.Com spy here. Only joking. Nice run. Like many LS1 owners I'm looking forward to running a 350Z, from a stop, roll and yes in the twisties too. I'm curious, how does a 350Z compare for track times v a Boxster S or S2000? Road and Track ran a Battle of the Brands article Jan 2001 in which a STOCK Camaro SS lapped Thunderhill Park at 2 mins 16.46secs compared to Boxster S time of 2 mins 17.46 and S2000, 2 mins 17.66. Of course a Z06 ran 2 mins 8.39 to the Porsche 911TT time of 2 mins 10.73. Shame there will not be an SS v 350Z comparo on a street circuit.

1/4 times without 60' times are POINTLESS, hence the reason why MOST magazine times don't mean jack...
I can tell you that link isn't right....the LS1 speed limiter is set at 162-163 mph and doesn't have a problem hitting it.
Any LS1 running a 13.9 is having serious traction issues....
Here locally we have 3 LS1s that have run high 12 sec times with just airlids. A decent driven LS1 should be in the low to mid 13s.
Like any race it is a drivers race though.
