Launching 1st gear
I just broke in my Z and am doing tests at what is the best RPM to launch off 1st gear for when i race.
From any well experienced Z driver, at what RPM do you find it best to launch off the line when racing?

...ok, this might be more detailed than what you want to hear, but here it goes. At the track, I have found that launching at about 2750rpms is the best. I feather the clutch just enough to get the car going (which produces a little wheelspin...the key here is to minimize wheelspin as much as possible) then floor it and go from there. I also tried feathering at 3000rpms but I seemed to be getting too much wheelspin. On the streets, I have found that I can dump the clutch right at 2500 rpms without wheelspin/hop so the car gets going right away but takes longer to build up rpms. When I dump at 2750 I get a mix of hop and wheelspin (like it doesn't quite grab) and a dump at 3000rpms leaves nice little burn marks on the asphalt. For the streets I would recommend slightly feathering the clutch at 3000rpms just to get traction and then flooring it. Now keep in mind that my advice is based on a LSD-less model. Also, I am at ~5400 feet so the car won't run as strong as at sea level. Hopefully these will at least be some starting/reference points.
