140mph in 35 degree? Your crazy At high speeds thats where the Z06 really takes off. But this Z06 driver I raced had a little chirp right at take off when he shifted another chirp. This was in sunny 50degrees.
By the way Z06s are monsters.

Hmmm, sounds like his TC might have engaged multiple times. This kills forward acceleration for a while, and is definitely not the fast way down a dragstrip. The first thing to do when attempting to launch a Z06 is to make sure TC is off.

The Z06 has a shorter geared (higher numerical) tranny than a normal vette, so when mine hooks up in first gear, it's an animal - no waiting for high speed. I had a run last week against a new 333hp M3 with the SMG gearbox. I put a car on him in first gear alone (hooked up this time), then walked him badly in second and third. The first three gears on a Z06 are extremely strong.

Good run, though. A win's a win, (or maybe a tie in this case?) and the more powerful car does not always win

Alright look, this is my 01 Z28 6M with ONLY a K&N Air Filter and a Flowmaster Muffler. NOT a catback, a muffler. I have video too. Not one person here can say a Z is a driver's race with an LS1. I love my Z and all, but it is NOT that fast. It handles great but repeat after me, it is not that fast. So a ZO6? Goodbye Z.

OK...not being a jerk...but I'm calling ya on this one....Please show me a stock LS1 that makes 350 to the rear wheels...even if it did, it would make more then 350 - 360 at the crank (drive line eats up any where between 15-20% (est) hp).....

This is from a LS1.com dyno day I did a couple of years back....now, yes I understand the 00 LS1s made more hp (I almost bought a 01 SS)...but NOT that much.
You'll notice that the strongest LS1 with full exhaust still only made 333 to the rear wheels...definitly nice #s...but NOT 350 to the rear wheels even modded.

I'm not being cocky.....i just know you have no chance in hell at beating a Z06. The Geo was a joke

My bad on that one.....typo on the RWHP. Meant to say 300 but was getting ahead of myself with the fly wheel number.

You should check out the GMHTP issue where they dynoed a SS that was bone stock.....327 RWHP **bone stock thru paper filter** and then ran 12.96 @109 in 90 degree weather.
I'm not saying every LS1 dynos that high but the 01-02s are putting down more power.

I haven't dynoed my car but it did trap 110.1 mph with just an air lid so i'm sure it has to be in the 320-330 rwhp range.

Sorry about the typo
Good day.

Good day.
I was hoping that was a typo, but wasn't sure... and like I stated, I know the newer LS1s are putting out more power, and I definitly would like to see some dyno sheets on one. I don't check out LS1.com much any more (or I probably would have seen a newer LS1 sheet)

I guess the Z06 driver said to himself "I dont need to turn off the TC to beat that little 350Z!"

This other 350Z 5AT (stock)posted the time slip on the forum. It was under 14sec and over 100mph sea level!

What time slip? A 350Z slip? Do you realize the difference in a 1/4 mile from a 13.8 to a 12.6? That is 12 car lengths. Who knows, maybe some dad was letting his kid test out the Vette. Maybe the dad said just punch it son and the dad shifted left handed while instructing his son to work the clutch. Then you could have hung. I think this is what happened.

Anyways, I need to get the Z out to the track and see what it runs but I can't stop playing with my new XR50.

I take this as sarcasm. I was never able to replicate this time. I did run consistent 12.7's after that and then sold the car with 15K miles on it to go play with motorcycles and foreign cars like Z's.

I think it was RodH on this site. Has a orange Z. A real time slip from the track. The Z06 driver was alone windows down.

Of course it was sarcasm, my bone stock times are in sig. I dont think Ill ever get a 60' like that again without better rubber.

I would like to say a few things since i have a Z06 and I have driven many 350Z's. (Had one on order until i was told by rich paps i can get a Z06.)

first of all, anything can happen on the street.

second of all, i know that it is totally possible that you stayed with him until 65. The reason i say this is because i raced a bone stock LT1 in 20* weather and the LT1 driver had me up to about 60 because in 1st and 2nd gear i was pretty much doing donuts because of how bad of a driver i was and because of how bad i lost traction. So, the fact that you stayed with him on a 35* day up to 65 is believable.

third of all, when you say that you wish you had the video to show us, i think most people are not saying that they dont believe you, but what they are saying is that you beat the crap out of the driver, not the car. if the Z06 gets traction, he/she will have about 4 bus lenghts on you at bout 100 mph. I have seen several Z06's run high 11's BONE STOCK. few, but it is possible.

Lastly, good kill. whatever you do, DONT get cocky. An equal driver in the Z06 vs an equal driver in the 350Z is going to be very very embaressing. So, what ever you so, dont race a Z06 when you have your g/f or significant other wih you in the car...

Take care.

I know the Z06 is a monster. Going by specs, the Z06 shouldve had at least 5car lengths to 65. Thats what I was expecting before the race. This guy didnt even spin that much. Perhaps shifted way too early?

I have to pull out my BS flag on this one... you have a 5AT touring and you supposedly pull dead even with a z06? Even if it were a good c5 impostor you could not have pulled dead even with one. Please, don't be like those automatic Maxima owners who think they have the fastest cars on earth.
