Default Played with a Neon Srt4 in the highway

I was crusing along in the passing lane and I came up on a red neon with dual exhaust and a goofy wing.. It was night so I didn't notice the srt4 badging until he moved to the right lane to let me pass, it was the first one I had seen on the road.. Then he got behind me and started tailgating trying to get me to do something.. I had the feeling he was gonna try to fly around me so I prepared by being in 3rd (about 65 mph) and sure enough he switched lanes and took off- his front bumper was at my door before we evened off.. I started to walk him after that slowly and by 120 he was i'd say just a few feet behind me and seem to start walking a bit faster and he let off close to when I was 130.. So my best guess would be 1-1.5 car lenths of gain from 60-125. I was pretty happy concidering I just came from the gas station from a fill up..

Those things are fast, weird seeing a neon move like that. And with some cheap mods they can become serious competition to anything on the road.

yeah, those SRT-4's aint no joke, with just an exhaust and a boost timer, they are capable of low 13's high 12's...i have a video of one of them w/ the boost controller and exhaust spanking a c5 Corvette off the line, and then proceeded to pull the Vette by 1 1/2 lengths by the end of the 1/4 track...damn fast...but, it is still a neon, lets se how those engines can hold up after 1 or 2 years...

Sure these cars are real fast, and I bet the kid that buys one will have a blast with it but......what would you really rather be driving?

Or a SRT? I bet a Neon driver would give his car up in a heart beat to have a 350Z There is always going to be something that is faster and better.

When the neon was driving behind me it looked like a cross-eyed bug.. The yellows within the headlights look like ****-eyed eyes..

In the video i got, the SRT-4 ran a high 12...i dont remember..wait i just found it...it an a 12.9 @102.399 mph w/ slicks, a new up-pipe, boost controller and exhaust..it was a silver SRT too. and yes, i know that cars come with warranties, but still, it's a neon... would anybody honestly rather drive one, even if it faster? (for now) I agree with whoever said it looked liie a crosseyed bug...i couldnt put my finger on it, but thats about what i was thinking too

Wow, pretty impressive. That must have been an awesome launch with that time and trap speed. Anybody want to host the vid for a while?

Nice run!! Pretty amazing what an econobox can do nowadays, it just isn't fair. For 20K loaded, you just CANT go wrong.
