They can do more than come close! I've personally seen Z06's with Slicks, intake and exhaust only pull 11.89 @ 115 and another with DR, intake ,and exhaust pull an 11.98 @ 115. With a good driver, Z06's should easily see 12.2 - 12.7 @ 112 - 116 bone stock.

As far as a LS1 running 12.6 bone stock hmmmmmm,,,,,not to discredit anyone, but much like 350Z's running low-mid 13's stock, I'd have to see it to believe it.

Think about it this way...Evan Smith ran that 12.7xs pass and then another 12.8xs pass...Bone Stock..on street tires.. what would he have run on DRs? LMAO.. I think its entirely possible..and looking at the slip above.. with that kinda 60ft~

Well hey, like I said, I traded it in at 16K and the clutch was toast. I drove it like I meant it. You really have to if you want to go fast without spending too much dough. I think I can get a 13.6 or so out of the Z bone stock if I ever get to the track...

Anyone in DFW want to make a Friday night out of it at Ennis one of these days?

I've been trying to get the Dallas Z'ers to go for the longest..... Was going to go this past friday 5-2-03 but didn't trust the weather.

I'm ready when you are man. How about this friday 5-9-03. I'll try and muster up some others.

GET A CLUE! hi 13's??

and LS1's shine past 80 mph...you DON'T want to race them from a roll...

I also call BS on a 12.66 stock ls1. I'm a z owner, but i'm pretty sure that only ls6s can dare come close to a 12.6 w/ slicks. But nonetheless, i'm proud of my v6. Sure, it's running above average compression on a v6 producing almost 290bhp, but it sure tears up your v6 rs/lx maros and stangs. Why the hell did i just mention that, it isn't even worth mentioning. But my Z can take on and pull mid 90s gen. lt1s. and definitely beat the new gt's.
12.6 w/slicks for stock Z06's??? WTF?

I personally know a guy that ran 12.10@117 when he was stock...that means stock Goodyears! Several have run similar times with the fastest being 11.93...awesome track, weather, and driver...

Whoops...I meant 11.93 (not 11.85). I assume you're talking about JRod too? He runs at HRP in Houston...lots of fast car there!!

There are a few others on z06vette that have 60' times even better than JRod's 1.86 on stock treads (best being 1.79??) suprisingly...

i keep on seeing all this Z06 talk we were talking about a bone stock LS1 going 12.6 with a 1.86 60' on street tires i think my comment was meant to be taken with a grain of salt...im not sure ive ever heard of any Ls1 going 1.8 on street tires....

1.86 isn't possible on street tires.....

and when i post a time i don't post a best ET and a best MPH together.....post the MPH for the ET you ran....

Thats pretty much how my timeslip looks for my bone stock TA only the 60 ft was 2.15 and the MPH was higher.

I'm sure with a 1.86 60ft i could run that ET as well....but NOT ON STREET TIRES!!

Actually there is a guy on our board, and he has a timeslip to prove it, that has hit 1.69 60' on his street tires, he also set the record for 60' on that track for street tires, so it is possible, good driving skills and a good prepped track can make all the difference in the world...

Do a little research on LS1 boards, you will be surprised...

That's right. The timeslip I posted was not made on a run down behind the woods track. It is relatively new, just north of San Antonio and is NHRA/IHRA certified. In fact, there are IHRA races there. Track prep is top notch. I ran NHRA for 7 years then sold the race car (67 Nova w/stock 327 ran 11.5) to finish college. It isn't like I am some dude off the street just playing around. I sort of know how to launch a car. And yes, there are faster street tire 60' than mine. Welcome to domestic racing guys. Torque and clutch control are key. Torque is something the Z has quite a bit less of than an LS1 and as long as you know how to put it down, then you are set.

I think this is where the confusion started... he mentioned 2 mods..muffler and K&N.. Thread went downhill from there. Hope that helps somewhat..

I love my Z but as I have said before, they are no match for any LS1. My 01 Z28 (not SS) ran 12.68 @ 109.9 MPH with a K&N and a Flowmaster Muffler only. Any Z owners in here, I would not bet on any races with an LS1 powered auto.
