I was on a three lane road and I was in the middle lane, lightning on the right, new eclipse V6 with exhaust on the left. It was a nice day and I was stopped behind the line and the lightning was up a little. My front bumper was at his door. I looked at my girlfriend and said " I wonder if he will run" she said :no, he looks older" I said " but he is driving a lightning, the only thing you haul with that is @ss" . As the cross light went yellow, I turned off traction control and slowly rolled through the intersection on green. About 3/4 through he was at my door and I gave it a little more. About that time I hear the whine of the SC and I dropped the hammer(DoT). We went to about 90 and he was still behind me. I couldnt tell exactly where. I was faster, but barely. I slowed down and he rolled by with the hang ten sign. I pulled up beside and asked what year and he said 2002. He said he had it on the floor and just couldnt keep up. He then said his wife has a white 350Z and is always saying that it is faster. I was sure he would smoke me, lucky for me we didnt go from the line. We passed each other a couple more times and each time he was smiling with the hang ten waving. It was a good run and he seemed like a cool guy. Oh yeah, the eclipse didnt even try, I dont think.

i had a race with a white lighting with clear tails earlier this month also.
we raced from a roll and i had him by a car i think. but it was a pretty close race.

 

wow, thats pretty strong...most guys I know with stock lightnings run 13.6-14.0 at 102+ and those are bad examples

 

Thats what I was thinking. I ran several while I was bone stock (14.1 best ~ 14.2 worst) and lost everytime..the one I ran..my nose was at his door. Really damn close race. Ran from 2 rolls and 3 stop lights with one..same outcome every time. Ls are badass. Not to snop the import guys..but my garage will have an L, My Z28, and a C5. Those Ls are sweet!

 

Yeah it was probably just a F-150

 

Not to talk down on your race but it probably would have been different from the line. L's, with their A4, dont do so great from a roll but still, these Z's are impressing me with stories like this. Thats alot of hp that you beat.

Thats why I said I was lucky we didnt go from the line, from what I have heard they would rip me a new one from a dig. I have no reason to lie about this race. That is what happened and the guy even sai dhe had it floored and couldnt keep up. It is not like I said I smoked him, I could barely see him in my rearview. Ask JP00SS he knows I wouldnt lie about a race. I have better things to do, like Denise.

 

nice kill. L's do a hell of alot better from a dig then they do from a roll, but a kills a kill.

 

Oh, I didnt mean to make it sound like I didnt believe you. I totally believe you. I have drivin a 350Z and am fully aware of how fast they are. I have raced and beat one from a dig and the only distance I put on it was right off of the line. I was just imputting my .02 because of my race with the Z. Im sorry for the misunderstanding.

 

Thats cool man. If I didnt do it, it would be hard for me to believe considering the power those things have.

Those L's are badass....a friend here at school has a true blue 02 with a pulley, exhaust and some other goodies...at the track he bolts up the slicks and runs 12.2-12.4 @108-109 all night long. They are very impressive
