Default just raced a civic si on the highway

I was driving on the fastlane(two lane highway) doing 75 when this civic to my right started to race me. I just floored it on 6th and he was only 2 cars behind me. I didn't know they were that fast bec. he stayed on my tail the whole time.

6th has no pull! You should have dropped it to 5th and left him behind. I often run in 5th at 80+ MPH when in heavy traffic, just to give myself maneuverability options. I always drop to 5th when I'm doing any signifigant accelerating.

I used to have an Si and they are decently fast once they get above 5K rpm but my Z would spank my old Si even modified. Someone would need to spend 7-10K to be able to keep up with a Z.

5th? sheez.. 4th! Even 3rd if he's only doing 75mph.. blip that throttle and drop it! 3rd will run up to about 85-88 before shifting into 4th.

Then you'll see the Z take off

Agreed, 6th really isn't a "power" gear. Definitely should have stepped down to fourth, possibly 3rd if you really wanted to let it loose.

uhh.... yea dude, u need to go back to driving school. obviously if u leave it in 6th u will not get much pull. esp if you're doing under 70 almost anything would be able to keep up/

Dude,

You should have double clutched it and dropped it to 3rd or 4th, believe me you would have left him.

I agree. It seems almost all of the Hondas I see at the track that have potential are just dumping the clutch off the line and doing almost as big of a burnout as they did in the waterbox with their street tires

not really that -- they just dont know how to build them properly -- they go to pepboys and get apc rice parts and whatnot -- hondas are very potent car in the right hands --- my 92 hatch would have kept up with my Z ---- but that got stolen -- oh well -- ill rebuild
