Went to an 1/8 mile track and destroyed all!!!!!

Well.....almost On my way back from a Z meet in Fort Smith Arkansas me and my friend decided to stop off at Centerville Dragway for the Test and Tune to have a little fun. So I paid my 15 and proceeded to have some fun. Well after winning 5 straight in Test and Tune, A guy in charge of who goes down the strip tells me I need to get involved with the Import shootout in progress. So I looked at my friend and said what the hell (he was with me in the car the whole night....this is why I am emphasizing "just for fun") I was placed in "Super Import Class"

How I did:

1st run Mitsu 3000GT-----> I won by 2 cars.

2nd run Passat Vr6--------> I won by a bus length

3rd run ---------->I got a bi so all I had to do was run down the track

Trophey race--------> Dodge Duster (turbo'd to hell)-----> I Lost

Here is the breakdown of the last race: I am 7016 and the duster was 7037

Temp was 92
Humidity: 85%
Elevation : 500 ft

Then I ran the series.....so in all I had fun, I got a runner up trophey and 40 dollars. Also being that it was Import night the ricers were there representing in full force. Me and my friend was getting in line to run again and we saw where they were at and we just looked at each other dumb founded. This was the scene:

About 15 assorted cars lined up with neons lit and their lights flashing. They were dancing with there gay little light sticks whipping them around while trance was playing. We overheard a few of them saying that they almost broke into the 15.00's with {insert} car...LOL.

All my friend said was.......God I hate Honda's...( he drives an Accord ) lol...This **** is what gives the Import crowd a bad name....Now more then ever I am glad to have gotten rid of my Accord. I mean for {Insert whatever God you believe in} sake, do you see hicks with there mullits and country music square dancing with lanterns……NO…… So why do the ricers have to act that way ?????

Good kills, but there is no way some of those cars knew hot to drive, or were just plain 6 cylinders...No LS1 runs a 10sec in the 1/8 mile, even a 9sec is not normal, so i dunno...a 10 in the 1/8 equals to like a 15-16 sec quarter mile....

I dont know either...the track was not exactly the best and I think a lot of people were having a hard time hooking up i.e. the bad 60 ft.. but in the end it does not matter cause I still beat them. I mean even I had bad 60 ft times....when I ran the 1/4 mile my best was a 13.88 @102 mph......so I know how to drive my car....the track just was not cutting it for me and others???

10 sec. LS1 1/8 mile......did they have a few cylinders missing???

In all seriousness that is what my friend runs in his 00 V6 Mustang.....10 sec 1/8 miles equate to 15 second timeslips which he has run 15.1......his 1/8 mile trap is about 71mph so the 72mph posted is NO DOUBT in my mind a V6 car.

The light has been shed on why i keep seeing LS1 kill stories......most of you guys don't know how to identify a LS1 car from a V6 car.
a 10 sec. 1/8 mile with a 70 mph trap is a V6 time!!!

Even a LS1 running 9.0 in the 1/8 is not good......

here's my slip
8.55 @ 86.9
heres the slip if you think i'm bs'ing you

After looking at the 60 ft times for the "Camaro SS" and the "Camaro Z28" which are 2.3 and 2.4 ......thats not bad for a V6......then the 1/8 mile time.....about 10.0 at about 70 mph.....
Those are V6 times.......
Congrats on smoking 2 $17,000 V6 Camaros

lol.....nope.....full blown V8........Unless they were wheaters who just felt like putting badging on their cheap cars
I was wondering when you were going to come in starting ****... but you can ask my friend riding with me or the other 400 people out there last night...so dont go calling b.s. where it is not deserved

besides like I said the track is not the best, hell there was even a zo6 only running very low 11's to high 10's. However there was a couple of v6's that did run and they got very high 13 to mid 14 sec. 1000 ft ET.

Nice runs Lokeey. I take it the Dodge killed the cars that killed you. If you're going to lose, it's nice you lost to a bad car like the Duster.

Nice runs by the way...

The majority of these kids out there are highschoolers who are into the biggest fad. A couple of those things include: Paul Oakenfold(electronica) and The Fast and Furious. I'm not bashing these two things since I'm open minded and have been entertained by the same stuff these kids are into.

They take the econo cars their parents buy them (most likely its going to be a Honda) and try their best with their limited resources to look and be like one of the big boys. I know this because I had friends like them while growing up.

We can't bash all Honda enthusiasts and Hondas alltogether because some kids modify theirs. We all know that a serious enthusiast could take a Honda, mod it, and give a stock Z a run for its money.

With respect to everyone my point is: Just because a handful of people don't do it right...not breaking into the "15s" don't mean we should "hate hondas".

Kids are going to be kids...Hell i've seen southern dewds in their cowboy hats dancing around their Camaros before.

Didn't mean to flame you bro...just had to get some stuff off my chest.

Actually, that was my friend that said that. I had a V6 Accord Coupe before the Z and loved that car. Fairly quick, too. I didn't list my other I-got-killed run for the night...a Prelude spraying 100 shot

Hondas are great cars - it's just that the loudest and most obnoxious, like with Mustangs and F-Bodies, make the rest look like ********

Talking

Seems like we have similar friends...

I'm use to my friends making comments like that so I give them the same lecture. I knew what I wanted to say when I read your post.

Oh well...I guess we're enlightened when we appreciate different cars for what they're worth.

Thanks....that car was fast, I would hate to have seen it in the quarter. I talked to the kid that drove it while we went up to the tower to get our trophies and he did not know what was under the hood, he just knew how to race it....( it was his dads car...lol)

So the weather affects everyone accept your magical Z. Come on....get your head screwed on straight.
You do know there are V6 cars that come with badging, body kits, and dual exhaust, right?????
Given the conditions you posted seeing 1 V8 F-body running that slow i can believe.....but more than one......i don't think so.
Plus look at the 60 ft.......its very clear they weren't spinning extremely badly.....

I'm not "starting ****" I'm just posting the obvious.....its OBVIOUS these weren't LS1 cars.....considering BOTH of them were runng 1.5 seconds slower and 15 mph slower than they should be in just the 1/8 mile.......

If a post EVER needed a BS flag this one is it.

I'm not denying you beat those cars but the cars aren't what you said they are.

Just for instance....a girl i know with a 99 Z28 A4 2.73 geared car....her best is 13.4 @108.....last time at the track she ran 14.0 with a 2.9 60 ft!!!!!! And thats about a low 9 sec 1/8 mile......
Your 60 fts ETs and MPHS DON"T MATCH UP!!!!!!!

Thanks for the laugh.

Actually the weather and the track did affect my Z cause even those are horrible times. The 60FT sucks and the 1/8 sucks. I should have been around 9.00 and at least +90mph at a 1000 FT MPH.

Besides Me and other Z enthusiasts have posted time and time again that your big fast American V8 are not the best in the world.

Well when it came time to put up or shut up I sent there asses back home. I dont care if they new how to drive. I dont care if they spun halfway down the track. I dont care if they missed a shift or three. I dont give a damn what there excuse was. Cause in the end they have to go crying to momma that some how or another...........THEY GOT BEAT. I got numbers, witnesses (sp) , a trophey and $40. So go whining somewere else. I had fun and that is what it is all about and that is all I cared about having.

I guess you and your other Z enthusiasts should learn the difference between a V6 and a V8 before you go posting kills.

So are you trying to say a 350Z is faster than a LS1 in a straight line B/C thats sure what is sounds like.

Well when it came time to put up or shut up I sent there asses back home. I dont care if they new how to drive. I dont care if they spun halfway down the track. And your point is what You beat a V6.....pat yourself on the back

I got numbers, witnesses (sp) , a trophey and $40. So go whining somewere else.
Whining I'm more in the "WTF are you thinking.....or not thinking" stage.

Congrats on the trophy and the 40 bucks....but learn how to identify cars.

The times you posted match the times a V6 car would run to a T.
You said a 99 Camaro SS AUTO.....with a 2.3-2.4 60 ft......there is no possible way to screw up enuff with an auto....with that 60 ft to run a 10 sec. 1/8 mile.....YOU ARE SMOKING CRACK!!!

You make all Z owners look bad with your outrageous kill stories......if you are going to post them.....ATLEAST MAKE THEM BELIEVABLE!!!

Once again I'd like to commend you on your beatdown of the V6 Camaros

Its not about driving.....those people ran very good times......10.0 is good for a V6 in the 1/8

I'm not trying to "start ****"...tick you off.....or any of the above......heck if you wrote a believable story I would be the first to congratulate you on the kill.....but when your numbers don't add up I'm going to raise the BS flag.......your 60 ft times and ETs don't remotely match.

I'm not going to sit here and argue all night about somthing that is so obvious.....they were V6 cars and ran times that were decent. Nuff said.

hmm

The 60 foot's and the ET's don't match at all...
somethings not right...

also look at the trap speeds

hell even my 75 year old grandmother could trap better than that in an LS1 powered car in the 1/8....

Driver skill plays little part in the trap speed of a car...
even less so in an A4...

Ok...I'll fess up, they were not Camaros...they were in fact........................................................ .............................

Mustang GT's....LOL. I cannot keep it going any longer my side is about to split....LOL

I'm sorry..lol

I do have to add this into the story though. After I killed the same GT twice I was running out of gas and I pulled into the fuel garage to get some 100 octane. The guy in the mustang pulled in behind me and his father got out. I had my hood popped up as the old man came close to the car. He said "Son.....we just got beat by a v6....twice..."...LOL, me and my friend about dropped, I guess it was the tone in his voice. Later on we got beside the same guy again and he asked that we race someone else, they are tired of getting beat..LOL..but they were cool about it. I told him I let the air out of my tires to get a better 60FT and the father said "can we borrow your air pressure guage". I said..." um..no...it's kind of built into the car, there is air pressure sensors in all 4 tires and this is my read out" pointing to the 3 tier stack. He said "well thats handy, are car don't come with anything like that..." again.. I guess it was the tone voice. But for a 03' Mustang with headers and exhaust...he needs to look into putting money somewhere else cause that car was slow..LOL
