2003 JGTC - Have you been watching?
Just wondering if anyone has been following the JGTC this season. I realize over here we can only read the news until they release the tape delayed shows in the fall but I was interested if finding out if there where any fans that follow the series anyway?
I think the success the VQ engine is enjoying right now in the JGTC can pretty much, nip in the butt, any hopes of seeing a turbo in the 350, or on any VQ factory application. It is true that Toyota's new V8 and Honda switching to a longitudenal engine setup will take some development work to get up to speed but the Skylines are still holding the advantage.
GT300, do you think with the success that Hasemi has been enjoying we'll start seeing the Syvia disapearing in favor of the Z? I know from exprience that factory built racers are always cheaper to purchase and maintain in racing so there may be no one willing to continue development on the Sylvias.

They aren't on Speed Channel yet. Probably not till the fall or winter and only 30mins highlight type programs.
Yeah looks like Hasemi fell on some mechanical problems but for a first year race car to come out and be that competitive from the get-go is very impresive considering the minimal testing regime they've had for the ZR.
Can't wait till 2004, the races over here should be great, even though it is an endurance event. I hope they aren't too far away because I would definately make the trek!
