Question 1/4 mile times???

I recently installed a Dry 60hp shot of Nitrous in my z and took it to the track for times..I ran all my 3 runs with Nos due to it being so crowded and having to wait 1-2 hours between runs i wanted to see what the Nos did.never ran stock but i seen a guy run a 13.9 @100mph with only Injen intake..ok my runs...
1st one ---red light!! 60ft time sucked 2.95 1/8 was 10.7 and 1/4 was 14.88 @102.99...good speed but bad launch

2nd one .266 rt - 60ft was 2.46 1/8 was 9.5(better) and 1/4 was 14.10@103.1...still good top end but no traction on the launch..

3rd one .255rt - 60ft was 2.55 1/8th was 9.40 and 1/4 was 14.66@99.6 (i missed 3rd gear and f$@#ed up!!)

ok so the first 2 runs i launched easy but still spun my tires through 1st and hit the Nos in the upper end of 2nd gear (about 4500-5000rpms)and didnt take it to redline..

last one i sprayed Nos from first still spun but took off faster (or seemed faster) but missed 3rd and gave up..

So we have established the fact that i can not drive right...so my question is with a guy running stock 13.9@100mph and me running almost 3mph faster , with a good launch with traction what "should" i be running in the 1/4 if i could drive...better than a 14.1@103.1 i hope....

Decent times I'm still impressed with my times below. No brake torque 3/4 gas first time at track. I raced my friends 6sp Z(CAI) beat him on the street but I had consistant better times then him at the track.

LMAO, not sure what that has to do with the tread starters post, expecially its nothing much to brag about at all.. but anyway..

You should be doing alot better then that with NOS, intake and exhaust, at least into the mid 13's, practice some more and give it another shot next time..

The title says "1/4 times"??? so thats why I mentioned my time. My friend with the 6sp Z was impressed too. First timeat the track and dont know how to get the best launch. Took off from idle.. If I learn to I could probably beat your slow time I posted my time slips on the boards last week and only had 2 responses from auto Z drivers.

I cant take it off cause i have my Nitrous nozzle tapped into it and dont want to drill a hole in the stock air cleaner and have the dealer be like..uhhh whats this hole from???any way it does free up the flow alot better with the exhaust and i put it on the diagnostic tool thingy...and it was showing that the fuel mixture was running alot richer which is what i need for a "dry" Nos shot to make up for the lack of fuel..plus it sounds nice

2.4 60 foot times are your reason!!!

I can pull better than that on my FWD 95 Probe GT with only Dunlop SP5000's in a 235/45/17

Drop your 60 foot to 2.1 and you will gain almost .5 in total time, do not spray untill 2 if you have to in order to get a good launch. Spraying in 1st is gonna net horrid launches on street tires.

ok...I went to the track last Friday and pulled a 13.8@101.9 with a 60' of 2.18 on motor with limited tire spin.So my 2nd run I ran with N.O.S.(that is the brand I am running not that I call it NAWS)and juiced right off the line with a pretty good amount of tire spin but managable.I ran a 13.3@107.9 with a 60' of 2.16..Not too shabby. So I went to TIRERACK and ordered a set of BF Goodrich Drag Radials and weather permiting today I "WILL" break into the 12's!!!

ok...best time as of 6/11/03 was a 13.116@104.6 60'-1.98 that was on b/f goodrich drag radials with 26lbs of pressure. my 1/4 went down by 2tenths but i lost 2 mph in trap speed..I attribute it to this..my street tires are 245/40/18 and my d/r's are 265/40/18 almost an inch and a half height difference so it was like changing the gears a bit..so if I put smaller d/r's on the back and try again it should have an affect on my 1/4 times as well as my trap..anyone have any thoughts on this???
