158mph!!!!!! holly crap *****!!!!!!
yeah -- so i hit some wide open road last night and decided to let her go........ as far as i have ever heard before, the fastest anyone had gotten the car was 157--- then rev limiter kicks in --- last night with the windows DOWN i got her up to 158mph, so my digi says...... but... ummmmm no sign of rev limiter yet --- but anyway when i saw 158 i slowed down before i could find out i guess.... didnt want to push my luck ---- my thoughts????????......
she holds the road amazingly -- definatly a chasis that could go way faster n stock for and still be stable.....
only bad part....
ive got about 500 bugs to get off the front bumper and windsheild.... its a mess

yeah -- the rev limiter will have to go eventualy --- i can see with a little more power n a 7000 rev limit in 6th that this engine is way capably of 170mph+....... not to mention the fact that the car felt amazing at thats speed ... so stable it was almost scary!!!!

Thats funny you should mention that cause me and the wifey hit 159 between Jonsboro and Searcy Arkansas yesterday. We were out looking to buy a used Jeep when we were seeing all these great open patches to throttle the Z up, so we did. Between 148 and 159 it takes forever though. Although there was a good solid 7 or 800rpms left before redline so I think the car could be capable of 170. Oh and on a side note..the car handled like a dream at that speed...
....and there was absolutely no traffic!!!

Well, I didn't go by the digital speedo, just went by the analog and hit 160 on it. Got off of it as soon as I hit 160, but felt the car did have more to give. Had the air conditioner on, lol. The AC did get warmer at like 140, heh.

No way the Z can reach 170 it doesnt have the horspower for one and # speedos are innacurate at high speeds. Despite if you see your needle pegging past 160 most likely its only doing 150 ish.

Had it up to 155 on the digital speedo....and here's the kicker...I though it would be AT LEAST a couple MPH off on the GPS but it read 154.2mph top speed on the GPS. My speedo is DEAD on. My old maxima would go about 146mph indicated and 143 on the GPS.
No way the Z's speedo is 10mph off at high speeds.
It had more in it but I ran out of straight road and I wasn't about to push 155mph through a long sweeper on the interstate.

Actually, I read a grat article in one of the major car mags a few months back that said the analog speedo's are usually off, but the digital ones that are part of trip computers and the odometer are usually spot on.
I can set my CC for exactly 70mph and yet the digital speedo only reads 68mph.
