Default Is it just me or is Search function a little funky lately?

Not sure if it's just me but past few days seems like the search is not returning all the results it should. Usually will go into a specific forum and do a Search in this Forum option to look for specific threads and lately it just doesn't give me a lot of threads anymore. For example I go to Private Classifieds > Wheels & Tires and search for "volk" and I get like one result... now I know that's not right lol especially since right there on the first few pages is several threads advertising volks.

Our search engine is not consistant nor accurate. I've seen this 1st hand. Thus, I never tell people to search anymore...

I had to check his join date

Only thing you can really do is search titles only and hope you get something useful.

I can't tell if you guys are being sarcastic or not. It was never perfect but at least it sort of worked before. Even if we're talking about just titles, that's not even working now either.

Sorry - no matches. Please try some different terms.
As I'm writing this, there's 3 threads with OEM right in their titles just on the first page.

If this is a known problem, can you point me to the relevant thread since i did search on it but it pulled up a huge mass of unrelated threads

Did you search for complaints about search before complaining?

I did exactly that and got threads on Mexican drug wars, cops getting screwed, audio installations, 17 year old girls, etc... got to about the 3rd page of unrelated stuff before I gave up.

I searched for "header" and "headers" in the Exhaust section, each time "No Results". Then you go back, and there's several threads for headers for sale.

You know, every week there was a thread in the ZR section asking "What is our top made of?". And of course, we all are like, "JESUS, AGAIN?"

Well, I needed to find one of those million threads about the top material and with our lovely serach function, I managed to waste 45 min with no results.

NO WONDER PEOPLE KEEP POSTING THE SAME QUESTION. I appologize to anyone that I've told to use the search function.

search is definately busted..

The sort search results doesn't work properly

you get a result set that is not sorted by date anymore and people will probably end up bumping really old threads

Yup, I agree. Check out the 1st page of this thread. This is how the "search" feature doped me. Don't ask me how, but the search engine got finickey on what word I used. I used "*storing*" for the first search, and had extreme sucess. The next time I use the same word, absolutely nothing. WTF? Just a few hours later, only the word "*storage*" worked. Talk about inconsistancies...

every time you search it will bring up 9 pages of results. And no matter what you search, its the same 9 pages
