Hey Adam, did your engine get noticably louder after the build (mostly the cams)?

Cool just wondering... even the Fuji sounds loud now, but clearly a step in the right direction (decibel-wise).

Weather has been amazing here but I hvae not had any chance to drive the car lately - I guess the clock was not only ticking on my Y pipe but my test pipes too as I found a very slight crack on either one, resulting in more really annoying noises. Replacing them tonight with some Turbo XS units, so I should be back to normal soon

On another front, got a new set of coilovers that we will be putting through their paces very soon - Ohlins Road and Track Series

I have always wanted Ohlins coilovers... To bad they are not made for my car. Very nice. Please let us know how they are.

Can't tell, the springs look like OEM bucket style but the rear shock has an odd config... Are these a spring bucket delete style or OEM?

we don't sell Motordyne products; only makes sense for me to use what we sell

If that was his goal I'm sure the car would be a 4.2-4.5L with 280 degree cams with 12:1+ compression ratio.

From what I've notice his idle is pretty normal with a nice little bit of lumpyness. I heard the car pass me once recently while standing and the car is quite loud. A nice clean loud, but it is loud. Not a hint of rasp and very deep.

We posted a video somewhere in this thread at somepoint and it's on our youtube channel as well (not much of a channel, just a few vids there). Sounds a bit different now with the change in intake manifold and now with the 06 airbox. The car actually does have a bit of rasp (at least that I hear in the cabin, been a long time since I've heard the car from a bystanders vantage point) in the lower spectrum of the midrange, but it's not a big deal to me at all. It has a nice crisp, tight sound to it through the rev range, that gets fairly deep as well. It's pretty loud at WOT (not nearly as loud as jiggys!), but cruising on the highway is very pleasant, no drone or anything like that, which is nice because it lets me enjoy the stereo

haven't updated anything here in a while, so here goes:

had an exhaust leak...turned out to be both a Y pipe issue (3.5 years scraping the flex section finally wore a hole), and one test pipe had a weld that cracked a bit. Replaced the test pipes with Turbo XS ones, and had the flex sections cut out of the Y pipe altogether and just replaced it with straight solid piping. Won't be a long term solution, just couldn't stand the leaky exhaust. I'll figure out a more permenant solution in the spring but this will work for now

Suspension installed, car realigned. Didn't cornerbalance it again, will probably do that in the spring too. This is, without question, the best suspension I've ever used on these cars. Tons and tons of height adjustment, but very meaningful dampening adjustment. It just does everything well.

While doing the alignment, I noticed the pumpkin leaking. Yeah, the same pumpkin that took so much custom work to get done...had a leak Not quite sure what caused it (we have a theory) but it was coming right from the front (engine side) and was beginning to coat the rear section of the midpipe, as well as my back bumper! Just took it down, swapped in a new seal and pinion nut (thanks Alex) and it's now ready to go back in.

engine wise I haven't done a thing, and have no plans...lots of ideas, and "wouldn't it be cool ifs...", but just going to leave it as is for the time being.

Default nice ride!

Beautiful n/a setup man. Just spent a few hours catching up on your build, only advice would be to shave the rear wiper/hatch to make it cleaner looking my buddies z has a apr single turbo kit with a built motor in it and has had a lot of problems with his haltech emu (mainly the cpu shorts out)...any rec's on a better unit?

thank you

I've had the Haltech for awhile now and no issues - did it get it from a direct dealer?

yes, dealer direct, straight from haltech. we changed it out this weekend with a new unit and seem to have zero issues so far. good thing it was still under warranty! they claimed it was a "bad batch" or something to that nature. Couldn't get any spark out of the engine, changed back to stock ecu and it fired right up. New unit works perfect now. Just wondering if you had tried any other similar units other than the haltech???...oh and were now tuned at 330hp 315tq on 3psi for "mileage" she is gonna be one fast ***** here after breaking in the new engine!
