Hey guys,
Got another set back today. They look even better than the last and we're really making positive progress. The Vibrant collectors won't be ready for a little while still so I'm looking at offering SPD collectors for the first few sets for a little bit extra, for the guys that really just want to get them. The SPD collectors will of course be a bit higher quality as they are the BEST in the business, so I will keep them available as a future option as well.
We're hoping to be putting out a set a week starting Jan, and have a bit of a waiting list already. Hopefully we'll be able to ramp up production as things progress. We've also made a nice stainless heat shield to help protect the fuel feed and evap line, and will likely be including hose for an evap line extension and a requiring a relocation of one connector. This is just to get more space around the headers and to make sure these bad boys aren't going to melt anything or cause any problems. We could also offer a coating service if anyone is interested through fireball coatings. They do some really nice stuff, we've had a lot of turbo manifolds coated for customers and they've been great.
As far as the making power issue, it seems that if you don't have a revup, you NEED cams. All cars should have a very open exhaust and intake, as the headers will only work if there is ample exhaust flow. They are designed for projects making over 280whp, and should not become a restriction until you're over 9000rpm and 400whp!!! In which case you can upgrade to the 2" primaries and 2" collectors, as on our race car. First to 9000rpm gets a free set of headers? hahaha!
We're going to work on an exhaust system next to help keep the system sounding good at low rpm and low exhaust flow, as any un-catted and open system can cause some rasp. I'm hoping a valved exhaust system driven by manifold vacuum could really transform the car, and it would be a real exotic style system as seen on M3s, ferrari's etc. Updates to come!!

These are the long awaited SGM headers. Getting a hold of these was not easy but Sasha is ironing out the final details on production and they should become readily available real real soon.
What you see in the pics are pre-production models with heat coating by Fireball Coatings and SPD merge collectors. The little ziplock packet contains the necessary accessories to prevent your fuel from heating up too much.

The June '10 Modified mag just showed up with a nice showcase on the headers and racing efforts. Way to get coverage! Can't wait to see the cam shootout. Is it set up for the following month?

I couldn't find anything on the nismo cams..but I just need clarification. He still netted 9whp even with the nismo cams??? Or he gained just as much as a rev-up would with stock cams..or maybe even more?
