Because the revup has a later peak, it gives me the impression that it will have a longer powerband. If I pinched the revup powerband by the apex and pulled it up, it would dwarf the mrev2/non rev and extend power with cams. JWT designed cams specifically for the revup. It would lead me to believe that they are designed for the revup lower, like SG's setup. The mrev2 was not designed for high rpm power and I don't think JWT took into account using anything other than OEM Nissan and Nismo parts. Could the Motordyne's, Crawford's, etc., work? Sure, but their low end driveability might suffer. The revup allows the car to make power longer and higher in the rpm range.
My most immediate interest is the peak and peak to redline gain I'll see with the SG headers. If I am able to hold or recover power higher in the rpm range with those and the mrev2, we'll get a better understanding of the revup's exhaust cam phasing on high rpms, even with the mrev2 on. I'll be getting an untuned vs. tuned dyno comparison of the headers. Then, I'll make my next move.

So, I've updated my setup.
Cosmetically, I wanted to use the Cosworth manifold, so I put it in. I like the way it looks. I also installed an Injen CAI. Again, I like the way the setup looks. I swapped the MD Shockwave V1 straight pipes for Harakiri canisters. This quieted the car down a bit, but it's still a screamer.
Combined with the SG headers, the car made no more peak power. Could be my heads, could be the dyno. Could be my setup w/ the high lift cams just don't complement the other parts. The Cosworth 270 cam has 10.56mm of lift, my JWT C8Rs have 12.01mm. A quest (or walkabout with the NA rev up motor) more than a competition, but the car is one of the higher powered NA builds on the site. I'm excited to see how Intimazy fairs with the SG long tubes. E30Cab has his build coming down the line as well. Should be an interesting summer.
Dyno'd in 4th gear, the numbers are are still abt 300+ whp and 260+ wtq. A flat 300whp from about 6400-7500+rpm. I don't know in what gear what other high hp NA builds were tested.
Not going to say anymore until I get the dynos up. Car was enjoyed this weekend.

from what ive read people have had better luck with a worked non-rev lower, which is what i have, will be going with a 1/2" spacer, and my upper plen is worked some too, and everything is gasket matched. im going with megan headers

I don't think the Cosworth loses out over stock but its not quite as efficent as some of the other combos without Cosworth techs massaging it.
Kacz, I've always had better numbers from the 1:1 gear, 5th. But if your saying the powerband looks good with a solid 300 at the wheels you're golden. Stop chasing -start driving.

Zcargarage put my car on the dyno as is with the cosworth and Samco tube being the only difference and it pulled a whopping 259.92HP and 236.91 TQ, compared to my last run of 276hp and 251TQ. That is quite an amazing loss of power. However the weather is much hotter where some timing pulling probably occurred and the car is running extremely lean compared to my prior tune. My AFR at around 12pts, yield the best power results and now the car is over 13pts. Promising but not sure if it can compensate back for the 16hp/14tq loss. He will try to do a quick tune and not spend too much time since this is merely for additional info for people that may be interested in that plenum. He might also do a quick tune on the 3" MAF to see how that goes. I'll keep you guys up to date.

In talking to Jim Wolf, he originally thought I would need to turn the engine more to make better power with his C8R cams. Sounded like I was a perfect candidate for a Cosworth plenum! I installed a Cosworth plenum, 3" MAF tube, and a JWT Pop Charger. Then I had my car tuned again by the same Tuner on the same dyno. As always, I expected to make more power. My car made roughly the same amount of power, but the power dropped off at 7,000 rpm instead of 7.500. Installing a Cosworth plenum dropped my peak power range by 500 rpm.
I couldn't understand why my engine showed the exact opposite characteristics for what the Cosworth plenum is known for. Seeing Gabes results makes me understand a bit more. Thanks for posting your results, Gabe.
