Default Built NA g35 Revup Tuned with Z Garage

I have been lurking around here for a while, not to many G guys build up there car, but I wanted to post my information to help share what I was able to get.

Car First made 281whp in socal, @ Do It Dyno( Lost the sheet tho)
Since then I changed to Stillen Intake and 1 Step Colder Plugs and manged to make 291 @ Z Car Garage.

Here is my mod list. I am trying to figure out why my power band dies like a non revup, especially with the cams I have It should have shifted the band to the right.

I have a little more time/ money to play with, I look up to Z1 and Kacz07. I dont think I want test pipes as the car will be too loud, so running out of room to grow.

MOD LIST,

Wiseco Pistons .020 over
Eagle/SCAT H Beam Rods
ARP Rod Bolts
Block inspected and cleaned
Block redecked
Block Bored and Honed using a Torque Plate
Rotating assembly balanced
Crank magnafluxed and the journals micro-polished
New Moly coated Race Spec main bearings installed
New Moly coated Race Spec rod bearings installed
Block assembled
New OEM Head Gaskets
Heads inspected and cleaned
Heads redecked
Ported exhaust and intake runners
JWT s7 came J WT Heavy Duty Valve Springs
5 angle radius cut valve job
New OEM Valve stem seals installed

Thanks for posting this! Nice to see another NA build. Solid numbers, too.

If you switch out to a revup lower collector and/or port and polish the Mrev2 , you may find the high rpm power. It appears the manifold has a big influence on the location of peak power in the powerband.

In my opinion, the Megan's were not made for anything beyond 6500rpm. This is anecdotal, but it seems logical. They are likely hurting power to redline.

Kacz07,

If I swapped back to my rev up collector, I wouldnt run the spacer any more correct?

I am open to P&P my mrev2, Something easy enough for me to do to get some more HP,

I was thinking about the tomei v2 header, or possibly nismos( but not if they are same price as v2)

But in the scheme of things if they are close to a G, I think id rather use that money towards boost, the 11:1 can still handle moderate boost.

THanks for the offer thekinn,
but if you have some headers I may be interested

i'm guessing you are using uprev software?

what do you have your rev limiters set to?

Keep the spacer or go bigger. Manifold volume is associated with power past peak.

The Mrev2 or Revup lower collectors will give you two different shapes to the powerband. Both will likely be receptive to P&P, but I would get some professional flowbench data and machine work for the lower manifold/runners.

I was thinking about the tomei v2 header, or possibly nismos( but not if they are same price as v2)

Nismos are probably the best way to go, but there are some cheaper alternatives on the market with quality collectors. That is a very important part of an ideal header setup.

But in the scheme of things if they are close to a G, I think id rather use that money towards boost, the 11:1 can still handle moderate boost.

Sg threads have your answers. Power falling off is restriction in the intake or exhaust paths

I have the megan shorties.
I didnt want Longtubes because I am too scared here in cali to get caught with out a cat, plus the car would bee too loud for what I use it for.

Thanks kacz07.
I am too cheap, so Ill keep my eye out for some used nismos, Which other ones do you recommend that are cheaper but good?

As for the manifolds, I sure wish i could get a hold of that carbtronic manifold sg had made, im sure that would help a lot, but in the mean time
bloxx I believe makes the biggest spacer at 5/8ths correct?

and ultimately would you think the mrev2 pp is > than revup PP?

I think I have enough time and resources to mess with those things.

While I was at ZCG today i got to ride in a boosted car, and it sure put that crazy smile back on my face lol
