Default Starting my VQ35DE NA Build, Any suggestions?

Hello Guys.

Since i live in Denmark @ Europe and we have approx 20 Nissan 350z in the country im looking for some experience outside the boarders since no one is really doing some cool tuning.

I want to do a NA Build with my old 03 Nissan 350z.

Current mod list is the following
Tomei Poncams 264-10.8mm G2 Camshafts
Eagle forged connecting rod set
Wiseco 11.1:1 forged piston kit
Fujita Intake pipe and open filter
Performance Headers
HKS True Dual 2,5 Stainless Exhaust.

Thinks im concidering buying
Upgraded clutch
Kinetix / Cossworth intake manifold
uTec Piggbybag ECU

Do you guys have any idea on what kind of WHP to be expecting and am i missing something?

Thank you all, have a great day!

i believe someone on this forums already did a full n/a build and didn't get over 320whp...it will b noticeable but not major and the money spent can b better off in the forced induction world but if that is ur goal...by all means.

I think those mods and a tune will get you great numbers, but more importantly great throttle response.

I think it will be sick, IF you're willing to spend the $$ and will be content with around 320 whp.. I would look into headwork as well. Also ditch the Utec and go with Uprev for tuning

The reason why im not going for a Turbo setup is that it is super illigal in Denmark.. So if i have an accident i wont be covered by insurance.

By going NA its gonna be street legal..

I've conciderted Headwork aswell but its sooo darnn expensive since it has 2 heads

I Think i will build the engine at first and then later on if i have the possiblity then get the heads portet for NA tune..

I was hoping for the 300-320WHP.. how much does these cars have standard WHP?

You should be able to make 300-320 whp with those mods and proper tuning, stock you're looking at around 230

I think it will be awesome. Just not many poeple do it over here in the US because for the same price you can just go FI and make 400 whp.

Look into Uprev for tuning tho. www.uprev.com

Throttle body and larger MAF housing would be good to add to your list

This is the naturally aspirated section, get out of here with this cheap turbo talk.

But seriously what kind of fuel are you going to be running? On California swill those parts would probably net you about 300 if your lucky. Also what kind of headers are you talking about? In order to make your n/a build really shine you need to concentrate on limiting the patristic drag and lightening the rotating assembly. Also look into getting a higher FD like a 3.9 or 4.10.

I had great results with those same cams plus the Tomei headers and test pipes and HKS exhaust on my HR build. Went from 254 whp baseline to 301 whp. Another thing you may want to consider is the 4.08 final drive. Had it one my NA build and it was just right.

Terresmak - Any recommendations on what parts to get?
jwttz - We have something called Shell V-power with is rated at 99 Octane. Not sure what numbers these compares with in the US.

What gains do you get from changing the final drive?

Dango! With almost 100 octane at the pump you should be set. The highest we have in California is 91 octane if you don't count e85. A higher final drive does nothing to hp numbers. In "KISS" terms it just simply trades top speed for acceleration. The higher the number for your FD, the higher the torque mulitiplication factor is. I have a 3.9 from 350evo. It worked well for my twin turbo set up and works even better with my n/a setup. Turns about 3000 rpm in top gear at 80mph which is not too bad. And it helps keep the engine in its power band on the track.

i think out 98 Octane fuel = 93,5 Octane on the US rating calculation.

Found some infom on it here.. http://hondaswap.com/reference-mater...ratings-59435/

JWTTZ.. I'm acctually unaware what type of headers im running since they where installed on the car when i bought it.. they look pretty good but they are running with the original catalysators.. might be an idea to change these for test pipes to improve the flow

have you looked into the Tomei Expreme Single Exit Ti? I've read independent dynos showing good gains out of this exhaust

I would personally go with JWT cams over tomei, and reconsider that garbage Cosworth manifold. Oil pump will need to upgraded for the higher RPMs, and I would tune with something that can change cam timing - unlike Utec.
