Default Can i fit an 06 350z engine in a 03 car

I have just bought a 06 engine to put in my 03 car . I thought they were the same . When engine arrived the camshafts are different . My mechanic is not sure if this will be a problem when plugging into the ECU ?

will it fit yes, but that's IT!!! Different wire harness, different ECU. Sell it and find a DE motor not a Revup.

You could make it work but there will be parts you need to swap like Conway has already mentioned.

Swapping an HR motor in a previous DE Z, would be something else but I'm pretty sure a revup motor wouldn't need a complete gut out. Anything is possible, just do research.

As long as you can time the cams properly the engine should work just fine on the harness from your car and your ecu. The injectors, throttle body, coils are the same. Crank sensor goes into the trans and if you use your flywheel should be fine. The only hiccup might be the intake cam phasing but with some fiddling you should be able to get past that. There is a huge advantage to using the REVUP engine, the cams. You can get the exhaust cam pulleys from JWT that eliminate the electronic vvt pulleys. None of this is difficult just takes some homework. Think about where the harness goes and just use all the stuff from your old engine and get the cam timing right.
