Hey bro.
Thanks for dropping by. I was hoping you could move this thread to the build section or 2003-2009 350z section?
I would appreciate that.
As far as the brake dust, I only drive about a mile to work, so I just wipe them down periodically. I went to cars and coffee at my local Einstein Bagels, and there was nobody there.
The manager said nobody has shown up for months. I see why because the parking area is so closely engineered that its almost impossible to open your door without dinging someone elses door.
So, im looking out over the lot, and sure enough this ******* is parked next to my car with a silver yukon and I start walking that way, and he starts looking all paranoid, and sure enough, he opened his door into mine and left a small ding.
So, im like kinda pissed but not pissed enough to smash his brains in, so I take note of his plate and his face and wait to see him again. Then I go cruise the beach and forget about it.
The car is cranking a few too many revolutions before firing for my taste, so Im off to the Advance Auto to check for codes and check the battery tomorrow.
anyway, here is the daily dose of pics

Turning over too many times could be a dry start, would check your fuel pressure. Might be time to replace the fuel pump.

Yes I contemplated that theory. It does sound a tad weak when cranking, so Ill check the batt first and then move to sensors, fuel pump etc.
Thanks for the tip bro.

I hate when someone can't be respectful of another person's car when opening their door. Hopefully it is easily fixable.

Where at in S. FL are you?

Yeah I mean you know the look on somebodys face when you are approaching them and they are ****ing up. He had it. He knew he dinged my door. I felt like he did it on purpose. I mean when I get out of my car i put my hand on my door, in between my door and theirs to prevent anything from happening. Its kind of like a respect thing you know? I mean I respect your car, I dont care if its a Honda or a Ferrari I treat the situation all the same.
Some people just dont care anymore man.
I think thats part of the reason people get shot all the time.
They are out of line .
But anyways, whatever. racecar. Its got some dings and it aint perfect. Thats life.
Im in Ft Lauderdale. Its listed as one of the most dangerous cities in the US according to FBI and other sources.
Its because nobody here has any honor or code. Most are living on a highly immoral and unnatural philosophy
I just stay to myself and stay strapped.

Where did you pick up your touch up paint and how close to OEM was it? I have a few spots I need to do too.

@jhc Thank you kind sir for accepting my request to move the thread and thank you for your support on my budget build.
@813_350Z I tried a few different colors until I found one that was close enough for me. Cobalt Blue Metallic. (see Pic) Its not a perfect match, however, I sprayed it into the cap and then used a small paintbrush to "dab" on the color. It may help in your application.
Good luck my friend.
So, today, I went to the Advance Auto to have my battery and charging system checked and everything checked out. They did not have a code reader, so I travelled to the O'reillys and had them run the codes.
I have a cuople of codes that may solve my hard starting issue, Im 90% sure the camshaft position sensor is the cause of my hard starts after some research into the subject.
Fingers crossed.
Anyway, here is the daily dose of pics. Thanks for all the help on here.
You guys rock.

Cam sensors can definitely do this, Make sure you replace both with OEM

I had my camshaft sensor go out a few years ago. Did you notice any times when it felt like your car "lurched" and momentarily lost power while cruising, but regained it right after? That was one of my symptoms along with a hard start.

Changing the sensors is extremely easy. My personal recommendation, change both at the same time. Just make sure you pay attention because one is angled and the other is straight. Go OEM. Too many others have had problems with anything other than OEM. I had went to Advanced when mine needed replacement because I was 200 miles from home and a Nissan dealership was clear across town. Mine have been fine ever since, but seem to be an exception.

Thanks for the paint advice!

Yo 813 Thanks bro .
I will likely only change the one listed and will likely use aftermarket. I am on a budget.
Ill roll the dice like you did and hope for the best!
Thanks guys. Stay tuned , If I get some time Ill work on that fender some more.
EDIT; just ordered all three sensors for 25 bucks. Couldnt pull the trigger on OEM right now. Maybe I get lucky, maybe I end up with OEM.
time will tell
went out there and just cleaned the sensor for now. Craks way faster. sounds better. I think it was just dirty.

Good luck with the aftermarket sensors. Consider yourself warned since you're not going with OEM.

So Amazon sent me a silk pillowcase instead of my sensors. Somewhere, someone got a bunch of 350z sensors instead of their sexy pillowcase. So after opening that little gift, I just headed out to Advance and bought one.
Instant fix. After placement of the sensor, and a "quick reset" of the ECM,; SLIP and TRACTION CONTROL light are now off as well as the check engine light.
The car starts instantaneously, with no extra revolutions before firing. The extra sensors from Amazon will go into a tool box in the car for future use if the existing one fails.(1 year warranty) The Air/fuel sensor code will likely trigger the CEL down the road, I suspect there is a small leak near or at my test pipes triggering (lol) it.
I am wondering whether I was in "limp mode" and not getting 100% out of the car?
PICS

Thanks again my friend!
I hope someone reads this and is able to fix the hard starting/stalling of the 350z. It is an easy fix, Nissan would charge anywhere from 350 to 550 to do it; it can be done in 5 minutes. This maintenance is important to do because the Z can stall out while driving and lock the wheel in traffic.
Just remeber the "clip" pushes "in and ejects the sensor unlike most connections that pull "out" That one thing is the only sppedbump I encountered.
Long live the Z! The pillowcase gets a 10 out of 10. I can actually see why it could be anti aging. A cotton pillowcase "scrunches" your skin up and sleeping on silk helps to alleviate this.
who knew?
I approve of this product. Thanks Amazon!

This had me rolling!

I am glad you were able to get a long, anti-aging night of sleep and are ready to tackle the day! Don't forget to leave an Amazon review:

"Didn't order this pillow case, but received it by mistake. Excellent quality, and never felt younger! Sorry to whoever was expecting this pillow case, but received my sensors. You're really missing out!"

haha
