2005 maybe tranny problem/differential?
I just bought a new 2005 35th anniversery 350Z. It is an automatic/tiptronic. When in the tiptronic mode, I notice a loud thunk in the back when switching from 2nd to 3rd. I brought it to the dealership twice, and was told that nothing was wrong with it. The service manager told me that he drove two others and they made the same noise. This noise does not sound normal. Can anyone please help me with any info on if there is a problem or not.
I have heard this when shifting in some scenarios.......monitor what RPMs you are at when this occurs, your "Z" likes shifting at the higher RPMs.....If I recall, it seemed to happen to me when shifting at the lower RPMS....as I learned to better use the tiptronic it stopped.
I cannot explain it, but I was not breaking anything.....it was a solidly engaged shift(in my case).

Depending on who shows up this Saturaday, there may be someone who might have the info you need on your tranny issue. I'm copying the thread here so you'll know the details. Hope to see you there.
