Default Inventory?

Hey guys -

I've been lurking around here for a while now posting here and there. I'm in the market for a Z and I'm looking to pick one up after the first of the year. Is there an easy way to search dealerships to find a specific Z (2006 Black touring coupe, 6 spd, black leather, etc). I know you can do searches on Nissan's website, but it kinda takes a while when searching major cities on the eastern side of the US.

Also, is there a way to tell what dealerships may have on order and when they are expected to be in....short of actually calling the dealerships?

Thanks for the help guys...and I hope I can join the Z family soon.

I think you have to call the dealer to find about it

Camaro....where did you find 4 vehicles in Columbus? I did a 100 mile search and only found one black but it has tan interior...not black.

i did a seach at nissanusa.com:

http://www.config.nissanusa.com/redi...nissan&lang=en
click Z-Coupe, Touring, zip-45215, build your nissan
select 'black', choose drivetrain
leave it at 6-speed, click 'choose options'
click 'view summary'
click 'locate this vehicle'

there are quite a few around cinci also...let me know if you find them.

Camaro...

I'm kinda confused. I did all that and it still only shows 1 Mag black with tan interior in Cincinnati...and then a few others within 100 miles, but those are Autos and other colors.

Thanks for the help though. I'm not exactly sure what is going on. It's kinda weird. One thing I did notice when I was searching last night, is that Nissan's website doesn't always refresh itself if you search under a different zip code. So, maybe your searches are not refreshing. I'm not sure....but I do appreciate your help man.

I was searching last night and found several throughout the country. One exactly like what I want is in Dallas, TX. I wonder if the dealership would charge me to get it here and how much? There are others around too...Arkansas, Georgia, Colorado.

Yeah, your right. I assumed that because the search brought back several dealers, that they had your car. Well, I looked at the inventory, and they didnt I did see the one you were talking about with the orange interior. I would check that one out if I were you. I test drove a black touring with the orange, and it was pretty nice. Definitly check it out.

Yeah...I was hoping to go up there and check it out and maybe even drive it.

You would think Nissan's website would have a better search feature in that it would only give you dealerships that have your car....not every dealership in the area.

Thanks for your help.

Edit - where in Pittsburgh are you? My sister and her family used to live up there in Mt. Lebanon...nice city.

That kinda funny, because my brother lives in Columbus. I currently live in Green Tree, but I am moving to Cranberry (25 mins north of the city) in January. Yeah, I would definitly check out the black w/ orange leather. Nissan did a good job of pulling off that color combo.

Generally the cost of moving a car to another dealer is around $500.

you can get the ent package and put aftermarket leather also. I believe it is hard to get the color and leather combo you want even if you dont order directly from dealer.iT is all about chance, the dealer has to have the same taste that you have

I just can't believe how many dealers order these cars with auto and cloth interior. Not that there's anything wrong with it....I would just imagine a MT and leather would be more popular in this car.

Visit a Nissan dealership. They'll find the car that you want.

I've been in touch with a dealership. The guy I usually talk to seemed a reluctant to get me a car shipped from Texas. He said the transportation costs would be high.

I would guess that for about the same cost of bringing it from Texas to your dealership, you could buy the car from the Texas dealership, fly down there and drive it back home. It would put a big dent in the break-in mileage.

That's true. I just found one in Atlanta which is about 7 hours from here. I'm thinking I might get that one.
