Soon To Be New Owner
Hi,
I'm soon to be a new owner of a 350Z, I pick up the car from the dealers in October this year. I live in the UK (hence the late pick up date!)
Is there anything you guys have picked up about the car since you have owned it? i.e. any sort of information I would need to know, I know how tempremental Z's can be!!!
I own a Z32 at the moment...........
Any information before I pick it up would be appreciated, thanks.

Hey, welcome to the forum!
I've only had my Z for a couple of weeks, so I don't know how much help I'd be. So far I've not encountered all of the little problems that some others have experienced. I'm using the suggested break-in procedures so it really hasn't been tested yet.
I would just recommend that you do some surfing around this forum for different threads that talk about what people like/dislike about the Z. People here do not want the front bumper drilled so that a license plate frame can be mounted...so that seems to be an issue for everyone. You may require or want a front plate, however.
Also, the tires that come on it are summer tires rather than all season tires. Therefore, winter use has definitely been an issue as has tire wear. The tires on the front are not the same size as the rear tires, so you can't rotate them.
Which model are you getting? Are you getting it at a good price? Here the going rate has typically been MSRP, although some have negotiated slightly below, and things seem to be dropping slowly.
Keep checking and posting on this forum.

It's illigal for UK not to have both front a rear plates, so I have to find the best place to have the plate on the front, I may have it on one side (drivers side) in a boxed shape plate, I think I will see how it looks on photo shop in different places on the front bumper (shame to spoil the front of the Z!!)
Stock tyres are always poor, I will be changinf to Eagle F1's as soon as I pick it up in October as you may know that UK weather is odd!
I am having the top spec 350Z ST (350Z 'Track' as it is in the USA) I'm being charged 33,600 pounds for it, I think the british government forgot to change currency!! We pay so much more over here for everything, which is unfair..........
I have been offered a job in Chicago, working in N.D.T. (Ultrasonics etc) which would start in March for 6 months that's with an option of staying there, if I like it of course!
I love the states but I have only been for a holiday, I did all the Disney things and it was great but I'm not sure how I would get on with living and working over there. There are more benefits to living in the states than in the UK though.

Good luck to you, Matty. If you make it to Chicago, you will find the weather much more challenging than the Disney weather.
Some guys are fastening a front plate and bracket to the front grill area with zip-ties rather than drill the bumper. That may be an option to you.
