Default New on Saturday (maybe)

So this is probably a bad question to ask as I would suspect that the forum will be a bit biased but..........

I am heading to a dealership on Saturday to check out a new 350Z Grand Touring Coupe. I hope to find a Daytona Blue one actually in stock at the dealership as I am one of those people who hate to wait. I have sold my current car, a lightly modified 2003 Mach-1 Mustang.

So the question I have is... what are your complaints and what do you love about the car?

This will be my first import car purchase as I have been a Ford guy for some reason. I haven't driven one yet but these are the assumptions I am making in comparison to my current vehicle.

1.) It will out handle (significantly) my current car.

2.) My current car is quicker in a straight line.

3.) The 350Z is overall a more refined car, will probably ride better, and is a lot nicer.

Thoughts?

Here is a pic of what I just sold. Hopefully I won't regret my decision. But you can see why I want the Daytona Blue. I love that color.

How long have you wanted a 350Z? I have a feeling that maybe you might be setting yourself up for a disappointment but I can't bring myself to justify that answer.

1.) It will out handle (significantly) my current car.
yes

2.) My current car is quicker in a straight line.
yup..but some might argue its a driver's race..

3.) The 350Z is overall a more refined car, will probably ride better, and is a lot nicer.
Depends on the eyes of the beholder...but yes..it is well refined in my opinion comparing it to a stang.

the Z is also a v6 = better gas mileage than the stang. the 05 stang has 300hp from a v8 while the 06 6mt Z has 300hp from a v6. and their quarter mile times are almost identical. i am also a fellow ford guy and buying the Z was the best decision i ever made. the only downside is the expense of replacement & aftermarket parts$$$. an oxygen sensor for my bronco is 25 bucks at a local pepboys. an oxygen sensor for my dads pathfinder was 200 bucks only from the dealer, plus he had two of them. buy the Z, you'll be very happy

Cool. Thanks for the replies. Basically, my situation was that I moved to California from Canada and my Mach-1 would not pass emissions here in California because of the modifications I made to it (headers, exhaust, ecu, intake, etc..) and I didn't want to go through the hassle of returning it to stock condition just to get it past emissions.

I have always like the looks of the 350Z so I figured it would be a good choice for my first import car. You are right about the power numbers being close but that is only a stock comparisson which my 'stang wasn't and if I get the Z it won't be stock long either. I kind of have a problem... I have tried counselling... I have tried group therapy.. but I am one of those people who just can't leave things alone... heh

I think that all your questions will be answered after you drive a 350Z.
