New Z Owner
Hello everyone,
Just got my Z yesterday and I am in heaven. Ive been saving my money for a few years to buy myself something REALLY nice instead of going from average car to average car. I bought an '03 Touring with about 30k clicks from a good friend. I took it out cruising for about 4 hours yesterday and when I took it back home I didnt want to get out. Superb car. Ive been reading this forum for about a month or 2 before I purchased the car to see the pros and cons.
Ive noticed alot of people nitpick about little things such as the tires, the Bose system, the suspension (which I absolutely love) but some people dont realise that this is a pure sports car and its no Ferrari or Lamborghini. The performance, looks, ride you get for the price, no car comes even close. Stock, the car is great but it never hurts to add other performance parts. The Bose system might not rock like some $5000 aftermarket systems but at full volume, it is loud and clear. The most enjoyable part was getting onto the freeway, throwing it into 6th and just sitting back and enjoy the ride. The stares from beautiful women during rush hour inflates your ego a little bit too. There arent too many around the Michigan/South. Ontario region so they arent a dime a dozen like Mustangs and BMWs.
Another thing I was happy about too was the gas mileage. Most of the year this will be a main car for me so it helps out alot. My mom drives a Hyundai Santa Fe and the Z get MUCH better mileage than that (2.7L V6 app. 173hp).
My only gripe was that the clutch pedal was just a little higher than the other 2 pedals, making it a little tough to rest my foot on the floor while driving. This is fixable though.
Overall Im extremely happy with this car even though Ive only had it a few days(I dont think its all sunk in yet). I hope to be more active in this forum because aside from the nitpickers that think they were buying an Enzo Ferrari when they bought this, there seems to be alot of intelligent Z owners that would be very helpful if problems ever arose. Thanks.
