Talking Break in question

Okay Hi all!

I have not officially become a Z owner, supposedly my car will be in next week Mag Blk 06 Touring w/navi loaded.

I have already ordered my new rims 20" ADR M-Classics. The question I have is since there is a break in period, should I wait and break it in with the stock tires or does it not even matter?

Thanks in advance!

i wouldnt worry a ton about the break in. why worry about rubber break in? the stock wheel sizes are 17/18's and u are running 20's. the m-classics are so nice. im gonna order a set of those in black 18's for my yellow roadster.

i would just take it easy for the first 500 miles with the occasional speed up/slow down but no racing or anything. me personally, i did my break in miles in less than 4 days. i could not stay out of the drivers seat!

Thanks for the comment....but those will be my winter tires! Plus it's always good to have a back up.

The break-in is for the engine. Slap on your new wheels ASAP. You'll be fine.

And congrats! Have fun.

You do not want stock tires for winter if you live in snow/ice country.

Hmm..another Z in the Mid-A region. Seems like we are gainin' some ground here :P. I recommend you follow the manual for the break in period. Keep it under 4k rpms for the first 1200-1400 miles. In fact, I'd followed other people's advise of gradually increasing the redline rather than dump all the power up to redline after the break-in period.

Keep an eye on your oil consumption. I haven't had any issues, but some people had posted issues. As far as rims...20"? Are you nuts? This gonna be a show car or what?

EDIT: O SNAP..ITS MY 1000th! POST!!
