Default Newbie Questions

Hello all! I have been a huge Z car fan since the z31 days (I was but a mere child then) and am going to purchase my first Z in August. I am thinking of going with a 2003 Enthusiast with under 40k miles.

I have a burning question though, and it is definitely on the newbiew level. I have seen a lot of threads that talk about recalls and issues with tire pressure, windows, and other things. Most of you talk about taking it back to the dealership. I am planning on buying used from a private owner - can I still take the Z back to the original dealer for recalls?

Also, I would love to solicit any advice that you all can give with regard to the buying process, such as things I should look for and any other advice you can give.

Appreciate your time, and am glad to be part of the community!

You could shoot for one under 36K but I'm not sure if the warranty would be up because of the years (3yr/36Kmiles)

I'd definitely look into getting one thats still under warranty if possible so you can get everything taken care of if it hasn't already. I bought mine with 28K and pretty much had everything taken care of and don't have any problems.

edit-You can still get the recalls regardless of mileage but there are some TSB's you probably won't be able to get being out of warranty.

ask the person your buying the car from what/if any recalls, what/if any maintenance they have had done on the car, be forward about it especially if it is out of warranty.......Z's can be expensive cars to maintain so if you have the opportunity through your finance company(if you are using one)you may want to look into an extended warranty(50,000 miles)..........good luck, and post pics once you get it.....
