Default Why VDC?

I trying to decide between the Enthusiast and the Touring for my new Z, and since the only unknown for me is why I would want/need VDC.

This is my first sporty car and most HP I have EVER driven. I driving in some heavy traffic 35 miles to work.

I see lots of threads re: turning off the VDC and the TCS. Is this just for more control at higher speeds (which I probably won't attempt)?

The complaint about VDC is that when driving hard or near the limit, the VDC kicks in.

For every day driving you wont be anywhere near the limit. VDC is a good safety feature, if you hit diesel on a corner of have to suddenly swerve it will kick in and hopefully help you to regain control of the car. It isn't fool proof and you can still crash, but it does help. You can probably find some statistic about how less likely you are to crash if your car has it, but I hate stastics.

It's nice to have as a safety feature, but it's freaky when it kicks in. The first time it kicked in on mine, I thought something was wrong with the car. My BMW had it, and their system was much more elegant, never knew it was there.

If you want to take turns fast, just remember that VDC will change how your car performs. I've gotten to where I turn it off anytime I'm out for a "spirited" drive.
