Well, im not one of you guys yet.. seriously considering on getting one, a used one, can't afford a brand new right now. Anyway, is there any way to tell the trim level of the car from the VIN#? The dealer does not have a clue when i gave them a call about their 2003 in stock.. i'm afraid that they will just pick one and say it is Touring or Enthusiast, although the car does have 18" wheels Navigation, cruise control, leather seats.. i have attached a pic of the interior.. thanks in advance guys!! one more thing can anybody run a carfax for me?

VIN# JN1AZ34E93T005480

Based on the information you gave, it seems to be a Touring model.

Didn't the track come with a nav option in some years? I could be wrong though.

It was an option in 2003. You could get a track model with nav.

just checked the car, i have to say it was OK. Needs little cleaning inside, some trim pcs are not intact (bottom of seat, Z bar in trunk area) but looks managable. no signs of accident what so ever, front bumper has minor rock chips on the bumper (touched up). the AC did not cool up when i test drove the car not sure if i used it wrong.. but dealer say it could be the refrigirant needing recharge, will be done if the car up. anybody had AC problems? also the clutch seemed to harder/stiffer than when i first test drove the a Z back in 2003... so what do you say guys?? i got the price down from 21500 to 20500 car has 50K miles.. they are nice enough to hold the car for me until thursday.. INPUTS PLEASE!!! THANKS!!!

Miles are high, beware of the initial build 03 Z's, could have trans and tire feathering issues!

You def. have a Touring, Track wheels are the Rays I-Forged wheels, look totally different! You, I repeat, have a Touring!

Based on the VIN you could have probs with feathering and the tranny, and some others. I would pass, too high miles and NO warranty!

You should look for an 05 model, most earlier model's problems are fixed
in 05, and some warranty would remain, and the clutch is better IMO.

Good luck in your search, it will be worth it!

ok.. i know you guys are probably annoyed by now but i want this purchase to be the right purchase... i got the dealer to give me free full warranty on the car 12 mo/12K miles.. i drove the car again and check the possible problems according to TSB list seen here http://www.nissanhelp.com/Bulletins/350Z/2003/1.htm . no grinding sound on tranny at any gear and any speed on the whole RPM range. i could not tell the front tires have feathering issue since it has brand new tires. clutch is good, did the second gear and hand brake thing that i read on here.. car stalled.. good, right?

Not all 2003 had tire feathering or tranny issues. I wonder if you could look up the sercice records of the car according to vin #? All dealers could have that record and you could make it a condiditon of the sale or just walk out the door. You would be surprised what they will do to keep a sale.

Correct, track models only came with cloth. If you wanted a track with leather, you would be getting the grand touring.

Don't be annoyed if the dealer is unsure about the model. Modified 350Zs can often fool enthusiasts. Why buy by model any way? Buy a 350Z with the options that you want.
