Default What should I do first??

Hello everyone well Im only 16 and I have been saving up since 14 and Im planning to buy a used 350z next summer if Im still interested and its a car I have always loved since it came out!!! Haha anyway I wanna fix it up but I dont know what to get. I live in a town of rich kids that get like m3s and porsches so I was wondering should I just go with a turbo kit and thats it?or what should I get? Please I am trying to get the parts early because I know someone that I am getting the 350z from which is almost 100% so if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome member The Nissan 350Z is an incredible platform; that's why you see so many members on MY350Z.com! In fact, I think as a teenage-racecar-driver (teenrac3r) you will find the 350Z with a turbocharger system to be sufficient enough to win any speed competition against the M3's as well as the Porsche's.

Did you see the 350Z in The F&F: Tokyo Drift? What a great example of everything I said above!

It may not be the best idea to lock-down your purchase to a particular car a year ahead of time; as there are sure to be more used 350Z options in the near future. You will be able to find a better deal if you use AutoTrader.com.

Do everyone of this board a huge favor, type as you would a high school English paper and don't forget to SEARCH before asking ANY questions.

Get the Car first. Many things you literaly have to look at before modding. To start off with decide what the purpose of the car is going to be.. show, drag, autocross and then plan on that. The world of turbo is somewhat complicated unless you got the money to give to a shop. Also are you mature enough to handle the power it puts out.. not saying you might get scared.. but it's a bit nutty going sideways towards something. Anyways, going all show is somewhat easier then drag and autoX. Get the lambos, widebody, rims, sound system, TV's, paint, whatever you decide. oh yeah and get that license also..

Welcome to the forum.

All of us were 16 once and had a dream. At the time mine was the Jaguar E-Type. Nothing stirred my emotions more than this car. Nothing. And it still does.

Goals are smart. They help you focus. And I wish you the best with your dream. Concerning the first step? The 350Z of course. Anything else is pie in the sky.

Thanks alot guys! Sorry for speaking "improper" english . It's cool how in ten minutes theres replies already...I have decided it's for looks and drag but yes I can control the speed if that is what you are saying, I drive all the time but it is different going from a driving my brothers civic to a 350z. It's a family member that has the car so that is why I'm also getting it for cheaper. But I did search and majority of the people say they started off with looks first then a turbo kit and exhaust but the reason was because of the money issue. Since I am getting it for so much cheaper then I will have money to mod the engine. And yes I do plan on getting a kit, rims, hood, system, etc .

Damn.. I still can't get used to this..

To the OP, continue to learn more and more about the 350Z by searching and you'll have most of your questions answered before you even get the car. Once you get it, it shouldn't be that hard to mod, as you will have enough knowledge. Still, if you have questions, ask any of these NICE members here and they'll be happy to help out, but you should leave your age out of it just in case.

Be sure to calculate the practical necessities like gas, insurance, and maintenance before making your purchase (and definitely before considering modifications).

Oh yeah, good advice in the above post. You denoting your age is not going to get you any help here, so you're better off leaving that piece of information out of your post... just some helpful advice.

As Yorbi says, calculate costs first & see how much you will have left.

Then go to a driving school; you need lessons far more than you need a turbo. At 16, you need to learn how to handle power (don't tell us you do; we know better even if you dont) before you add more power.

Once you have driven the car without incident for, say 6 months, then start thinking turbo.
