Default Wanted to introduce myself...

Hey all,

I am the proud new owner of a brand new (21 mi on the clock) 2006 Magnet Black 350Z Base. I have been cruising your forums as a guest for the past month or so picking up information etc. it was only yesterday that I registered as I had made my decision. Thanks to the information found in this forum it was made apparent to me that the Base was the way to go for my intended usage of this Z. A weekend road track racer with summer time daily driver qualities... Why pay more for upgrades if you are going to upgrade the upgrades?

I come from 7 years of DSM background and have had everything from a quick spooling street machine to a 650WHP 10sec 1/4 mi monster. I have a bit of knowledge in the forced induction/tuning background and hope that I may be able to help contribute to this community as I have my local chapter of the DSM car club.

Based upon the research I have done for aftermarket modification path I intend, it appears that the NISMO stuff seems to be of great quality offering similar HP gains and handling advantages over others such as AEM, Stillen etc. etc. at a similar or lesser price in some circumstances. I guess my first question to the group now that after so many years I am once again a new guy and not a grandfather is... Is the NISMO stuff and the fact that they don't void warrantees worth going on the NISMO path or are there other directions I should turn? I don't currently intend on forced induction... But I never intended on a 650 hp monster either...

Thanks for the space guys! I am proud to say I am in love with this car!

Lastly,
Anything I should watch out for with break in etc?

Thanks Again!
Mike

Congrats on the purchase. As for the break in, keep it under 4000 rpms for the first 1200 miles. After that, slowly increase the limit each 100 miles (thats what I did).

Congrats and Welcome!!

I know a few of my friends have the NISMO mods and love them. You will find many opinions out here and the best solution seems to be what your wallet can handle and what mods, when compared, will work best for your (tracking and such) needs.

Good luck with it all. YOu will grin for many more miles to come!!

Already Broke that rule... I know I shouldn't beat on it but it is just so hard not to want to, Only spits and spurts... haven’t hit redline generally try to keep myself in check. Based upon what I know from the past engine building experience here and there a few WOT pulls should actually be good for it.

Thanks for the advice and congrats guys. Took it on my first ocean drive for lunch... Good times!

I'm pretty sure you'll be good with the NISMO. They make good parts I'm told. But it also depends which route you go. If you want raw, pure and utmost power, the R Tune is what you're going for, unfortunately it's (mostly) not street legal and not covered under warranty. While S Tune stuff still gives good gains while under warranty and is legal.
