Default Getting an '03 Touring model in less than a week!

I'm getting an '03 350z touring with only 33,500 miles on it. I'll put up some pictures when I get it. It's all stock and I got it for $22,500. The loan payments suck, but the cars worth it.

Did you already get it or do you have time to decide?

I would try to see if he will go lower. I only paid $2K more for mine APR05 with 10,000 miles and it had navigation in it.

I got her to go down from 25k to 22,500. The car is also in excellent condition.... How does your car drive? The z I am getting is also automatic.

Do you know if the recalls were taken care of or not? Like the gas filler, the feathering etc? Is it still under the warranty or have an extended warranty?

Well, she did tell me that she had a card with nissan for a lifetime of free oil changes. but about the warranty, I think it is still under warranty because it hasn't reached 36000 miles yet. Would the waranty continue even under a change of owner?

It all depends on when it was first registered. It's 3 years/36 months. Some 03s were actually titled in 2002, and would already be out of warranty even if it hasn't hit 36,000 miles. Mine was a late 03 and the warranty runs out this October.

Oh. I am going to have to ask her exaclty when she bought it and I probably will get the extended warranty.... So how does your Z run? do you know how it compares to the manual ones of '03 in terms of acceleration times and hp?

I love my Z. I got the feathering fixed, and it seems to be gone or minimized, got the CD skipping fixed and the fuel filler recall done. The car has always run great, and I'm very happy with it. Mine has run pretty evenly with 6MTs I've played around with, but I haven't done anything serious. I'm actually waiting for Performance Nissan to ship my next mod, a Nismo exhaust. After that will be a spacer and MREV2 probably.

Cool. The first performance part i plan to put on is an injen cold air in take. My uncle got me a nismo muffler with nismo exhaust tips. someone who had all nismo parts replaced his muffler and exhaust because of a little scratch. Now i have it sitting here in my garage and I dont have the Z yet.... I plan to get either a super charger or turbo for it in the future. Which one do you think is better?

The turbo/SC question gets asked a lot, and I do not really follow them. I'm sure you can find some recommendations by looking in the forced induction section. Going turbo or SC probably depends on your goals and how much you want to spend. I don't think a Nismo exhaust is one that FI guys use though FYI.

That's an OK deal, don't worry! Check out what Kelley blue book says and you'll feel better.

Before you go crazy and start modding your car, take a while to just drive it and get a real good "feel" for it. Get to know it real well inside and out. Take care of any small things that might need to be fixed. That way, when something goes wrong, it will be easier to correct.

Welcome aboard and enjoy the ride!

All best,
Joe
