Wow...that is extremely ridiculous! Sorry for your loss...good luck with everything else! I would use the gap insurance which was suggested above!

From the looks of the pictures my guess is that its not considered at totaled, new interior and door and ou should be ok...i think.

I do agree with the fact that you should pack up and get out of Dodge though. Nicer car means nicer neighborhood!

That is sad. I hope everything turns out ok. You might consider a car cover too. Knuckleheads are like fish, they bite on the bait they see.

Arrow So...

they smashed out the back window, tossed a lit match in and it begins to burn? I've never had my alarm go off. Should it not of sounded with the broken window?

The passenger window seems fine. From the pictures, it appears that the above took place. Just felt like asking this out of curiosity because your ins. co is defiantly going to be questioning you after a week long policy with a significant fire claim...

Holy jeebus.....it could have been much worse.

Those look like easy repairs....seriously. Make sure you get leather seats out of this. Might as well, right? Good luck.

That's just extreme. Fair bit of fried Z, really sad sight.

Good luck with the repairs or replacement ReV74. Welcome to the community.

That is not worth fixing. Do not accept them fixing this. You will have the burnt smell forever. This is not different from flood damage or hitting a deer and having a carcass in your car like that STI that was bought salvaged.

Fried smell is impossible to be rid of. I'd guess with the damage, it would be a write off anyway. Certainly would be in NZ.

At least you had one week of Z enjoyment, hopefully you will have many more ahead, in another Z.

I would not buy another car, cause I bet they strike again. Dam haters.

Oh and BTW the alarm goes off if the doors are opened not window breakage! GL, this is why I am so ****ing paranoid these days about my ZR!

What the hell is up with people??

One of my good friends, had a 06 WRX wagon, fastest bone stock wagon in the nation, went 13.85. He and his wife went to go see a movie and came out of the theatre and the whole interior of his car was burnt.

I didn't have the car for that long......thus I never thought something like this was going to happen to me (car). So the alarm Idea never came into play. And NO the alarm never went OFF!!! Cheap alarm!

As for the burnt parts they are replaceable!! I don't know aboout the smell? that I guess I would have to wait until I get it back (crossing Fingers).

On the Bright side (if their is one) Insurance gave me a $7,000 dollar estimate to fix my car. I know I know that all lot of you are going to say get TT, but I really need to get my car back....Raining season is here! and as you can see I only have my MOTO as a secondary vehicle (2005 CBR 600RR...love it). I talked to the body shot owner (friend of mine) and he said that he is going to fix it back the way it was....and add some Bride Ergo II seats while he's at it.

As for the Match that I found here's a pic of it!!
