Got My First Z - Saying Hi
Hi All,
Just wanted to drop in and say hello.
I picked up my first Z in the form of an '04 Silver/Black Touring Roadster last week.
I had an initial hiccup from the uneven tire wear as a result of the factory mis-set alignment that affected the 03/04 models but the car was certified and the dealer fixed the alignment and slapped on 2 brand new Potenzas for me today. Now she's riding nice and smooth
As an ex s2000 owner I had reasonably high performance and handling expectations from the Z which have been more than fulfilled (if not exceeded). I love how smooth the V6 feels with a nice steady power flow all the way up through the box. I also have to admit that my 'sports car purist' mindset finds itself in guilty pleasure with the refinements that the touring package adds to the car.
Great to meet you all, see you in the main forums.

The s2k is really a great car, just a different car. It's lighter and of course a high-revver, there's tonnes of fun to be had screaming around at 8500+ rpm and feeling the fun jolt of that wonderfully designed Vtec engine kicking in.
I had mine for 2 years before a bankruptcy claimed it. During that time I found myself longing for more torque which is pretty much something a NA 4-banger will have a lot of trouble producing. It was also my daily driver so it could get a little tiring to drive, although, saying that I drove it from PA to CA over 7 days at one point ha ha ha.
The torque, comfort and smoother ride of the Z make it a nicer blend of daily driver and weekend rubber burner for me, but it all comes down to personal preference and what you want the car for.
One thing is for sure, the s2000 like it's other stable mates, the Boxter, the Z4 and the Miata are all exceptional examples of engineering and are all worth admiring for their different qualities.
As more me, I consider the Z an upgrade for my personal needs.
