Got a Z - happy new year to me!
I've been drooling over the Z since I first saw it at an auto show in 2003. They had "The Run" playing on a big screen at the Nissan stand, and I had to watch it twice cause the sound of the Z screaming through Prague gave me goosebumps (soon after, I bought the DVD). Now that sound follows me everywhere I go! I picked up a 2006 Enthusiast 6MT in Silverstone 2 days ago and I couldn't be more in love with the car! My previous car was a 2000 Honda Civic Si, which is still a helluva car, but the Z is a sexy beast! And the torque is addicting! Here are some pics:
Anyway, I've been lurking and learning for a month or so, but now I'll be contributing. No mods planned for now, just going to enjoy the car as it is until I get antsy. Also, after reading about alternative break in approaches, I decided to stick to Nissan's recommendations. It still seems to me that the Nissan engineers should know best. I'm trying to reach 1200 mi. as fast as possible - I put 270 on it the first day Can't wait to really open her up!
By the way, if anyone is thinking about buying, this is an awesome time to do it. I had a bit of trouble finding the color and trim level I wanted, but once I did I was able to work a pretty sweet deal - $200 over invoice BEFORE the $1k cash back from Nissan.

I had also had a civic and I also just got my Z...
And your right, it is quite a sexy beast, as many people keep repeating the torque is great. When you downshift you really feel it, let that 3.5 sing!

And thanks for the warm welcome y'all. It's pretty cool to hear there are a few Si converts here...in fact I've noticed quite a few Honda--->Z converts on this board in general. Can't resist the Z!
