Cool Ordered a New Grand Touring MT

Placed an internet order with dealership to get an '07 GT MT with Sirius/Nav/Side Air Bags/etc. in choice order of Carbon Silver, Black, or Redline - all with Black interior as first choice. Went into Dealer last weekend to speak in-person. Dealer requires a $1000 non-refundable deposit to pre-order a GT model. They don't do that for any other Z models. I currently own a '06 Touring MT Silverstone with Sirius (but no Nav system) that I got last April. I will be selling it soon to pay for most of the price to upgrade to the '07 GT model. I have not talked 'bucks' with dealer yet but hope to get it for about a 37k drive-away price. They usually price Z's at 2k under sticker for their internet sales. Anyone else found any '07 GT on dealer lots yet? They seem to be scarce right now.

Photo of my '06 Z is attached.

I ordered an '07 GT MT (Solar Orange with Burnt Orange interior) in early Jan 07. Was told it is en route with scheduled delivery March 16 or so. Had to put down a $500 deposit. I haven't seen one on the lots yet, maybe because I haven't seen a 2007 around here at all...

Was told by the dealer that they don't like to order GT's for the lot because of the sticker price, guess it is easier to turn over the lesser priced cars.

You were able to order Satellite with the Nav? The Nissan website doesnt let you put those options together (I want them both also) but the dealer I talked to said they "think" they can be ordered together....what did your dealer say ?

Picked up a 2007 touring on 1/30/07, there were two in the lot and I went to the dealer on 2/9/07 to pick up registration and they were receiving 8 350"s that day, it may be my area but they are available down here in Miami, What I have not seen yet is one with the new colors.

GTs are hard to come across compared to the other models.
Good choice!

I posed this very dilemma to the salesman at Nissan dealer, that the Nissan website will not let you add both NAV package and SAT Radio to the option list. They are mutually exclusive as choices on the Nissan website, just as you stated. He said if he got a '07 GT with the NAV package, that he could get a Sirius SAT Radio put in for me as a Dealer Installed Option. I remain skeptical about this. We discussed that the problem might be from the need to have two sat receiver antennas mounted on the Coupe's roof for both to work. Since I already have Sirius on my '06 Touring Coupe, it would be a deal breaker to not get Sirius again for an '07 GT Coupe, I would forgo the NAV package instead.

Im not sure if this answers the question about the GT, but yesterday I saw a Touring with Nav and XM radio - from the factory.....it had the little "box" antenna on top....I still dont know if you can get the combo on the GT though (the website will let you add both Nav and sat radio on a Touring but not the GT)

u080570,

The Nissan dealer tells me that they cannot get both Sat radio and Nav system as factory installed options. He says he checked with the Nissan regional office and they told him these two options are mutually exclusive. In light of your sighting a Touring model with both Sat radio and Nav system installed from the factory I have reason to doubt the authenticity of the information being given to the salesman that I am working with. I will have to investigate this further in different channels before ordering the car. BTW, they told me if I place my order this week, it would be custom ordered to the Nissan factory in Japan and it should arrive by first week of May. I don't want to rush the decision until I have verified that I either can or cannot get a Sirius Sat radio along with a factory-installed Nav system.

Side note: Salesman said they could do a DIO with second antenna mounted on rear brace and have a head unit attached to dash with velcro. This would be unacceptable to me, especially as I thought that all Touring and Grand Touring models come with the Sat radio option pre-wired in the head unit of the Bose AM/FM-CD In-dash Radio for those who decide on after-market installation instead of getting it as a factory installed option.

Why doesn't Nissan just make it easy on us to get what we want by allowing the selection of both options from their website and getting this information out to the dealerships so that confusion does not reign. I am sure the issue of having multi-signal satellite reception for a roof-top mounted antenna is not only technically feasible but functionally viable as well.
