Newest of the Newbies
Hello,
My name is Ken and I am a Z oholic. Just bought my first it is a 2004 touring silver. I have some questions and i hope you guys can help and also give your opinions:
1. Is there anyway to find a copy of the original window sticker?
2. I am looking for some cheap ways to increase my HP
3. What unmodified production cars from 2004 and up will cream me on the road that I need to look out for (Corvette is a given)
4. OPINION: What rims look best on a silver Z, Chrome, black, brushed aluminnum or gun metal grey?
5. Does all Z's have the HID lights? I was told mine does but the dealer didn't list it (they also didn't list it had a nav system"
6. How hard is it to ad a DVD to work on my Nav screen?
7. Will NOS completely bugger up my Z?
8. I was told in order to get another key I need to bring my car and my other key to the dealer to have this reprogrammed. i have one installed in a module for my remote start so what will happen with that key? Is that correct or can they just program my key from the vin?
MORE TO COME
Thanks for all the help!!!!!!

Ken,
You could probably find a lot of answers by taking a look around and searching. Most likely these questions have been asked before.
Here is what I know:
1. Unlikely
2. The after-market support for the Z is incredible. Almost anything you can think of is available. Exhaust, MD Spacer, Upper Plenum, JWT Pop-Charger are some of the usuals. Again, search.
3. RSX.
4. Just say 'No' to chrome.
5. No. 06 and up have the HID's. They are a direct swap though. Same with the LED tails.
6. Not sure about this one. I imagine it is difficult and not worth the time/effort.
7. I have seen several members running Nitrous on the forums. Personally, it just isn't my thing. It's kinda like cheating in video games.
8. I am not sure about this one either. I would just call the dealer.
Good luck!

Zee,
Thank you for your reply. As for the HID's are you saying that they were wrong? Or was it an option in 04?
LED tailights is that the way to go? How many $$$$
My first mod was a K&N drop in air filter (i'm such the mechanic) LOL
I also put one of those turbinators in the air intake (don't laugh) I figured what the hell.
I may just but the K&N Typhoon but not sure if its any better then the drop in.
Again thanks,
Ken

lol at ur turbinator. its the butt of all jokes.
The stock intake system is fine. If you want it purely for sounds, go for popcharger or injen cold air. They both perform well and sound good.

All Zs except Base since 2003 come with HIDs.
By the way, I like chrome but I was transported here from the 50/60s when chrome was king!

You guys are great!!!!!
To recap
RSX is a joke and the Z is still the king
POP charger is better then the Drop in K&N Filter.
I didn't know that would make it sound better. Will all pop chargers like the typhoon make it sound better?
By the way can the stock Mustang GT beat the 2004-2007 Z?

Welcome. You'll see a lot of reminders to use the search for the newer members. In time you will see why, but don't hesitate to ask questions you can't find the answers to and remember forming your opinion from data is better than just taking someone else's. Enjoy that Z!
